Aprilia bikes are like a Harley Davidson, it is a bike that is very hard to mistaken for another type of bike or another brand. The same goes for any Aprilia bike. The bike has finally been caught in the flesh being tested on the road and it has gotten the bike world very excited!

It has been over a year since the rumors started that a new Aprilia bike is going to be launched. The Tuareg 600 has been stopped and this will be the third motorcycle that will be launched with Aprilia’s all-new 660cc powered engine. We expect that the bike will have a liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that is half tilted forward from the factory RSV4 1100 V-four mill.

A much-anticipated bike from the one and only Aprilia

Via: ADV Pulse

Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer that was founded right after world war two in Noale, Italy. It was founded by a man by the name of Alberto Beggio. The company started out by making bicycles and moved on to making scooters and small-capacity motorcycles.

Since then, Aprilia has moved on to making large sports bikes such as the V4 RSV4. They have a strong motorsport competition program that began with motocross racing and now has a world championship-winning road racing program. In 1977 Ivan Alborghetti from Milan, Italy won the Italian 125 and 250 cc motocross championships on Aprilias. In 1978 Alborghetti closed the season with two third places in individual races and sixth place in the World Championship. In more recent years, Aprilia has been part of the World Superbike since 2009 as well as in the MotoGP since 2012.

Aprilia made their international racing debut in the Motocross World Championship competing in the 125cc class from 1976 until 1981 with the best result being fifth place in the 1979 season with rider Corrado Maddi. The company was acquired by Piaggio in 2004.

What we know about 2021 The Aprilia Tuareg 660

Via: Shifting-gears

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is some what of a retro throwback for the Italian company. Its name is reminiscent of the defiant Dakar machines of the 80s and 90s and offers Aprilia a brave challenger in the emerging ADV middle class, which the Tenere 700 in particular has won impressive Success. Bike enthusiasts are very excited to see what this new bike has to offer.

Here is what we know about this bike so far.

In terms of the bodywork, the 2021 Aprilia Tuareg 660 will feature several design lines that have been inspired by the Dakar Rally Motorcycle. It looks like the Italian company wants to compete with the big boys such as the 800 Honda Africa Twin, the BMW F 850 GS as well as the KTM 790 Adventure. That is of course if all the rumors about this bike are true.

The bike is equipped with a fuel tank that sits on top of the engine and does not slide sideways which is a nice thing to keep in mind. The maximum fuel capacity is around 18 liters. This means that the tank is not too big but not too small either.

From an ergonomic point of view, the riding position of the bike seems to offer the riders a great off-road dynamic as the bike is equipped with a narrow saddle that seems to be mounted quite high up. This will allow the rider to be high enough off the ground to have a great off-road riding experience.

Now it is time to talk about the juicy stuff, the engine! The bike is powered by the RS 660 powerplant. This is a 660 cc twin-cylinder engine with about a reading of 99 horsepower. The engine is then connected to a 6-speed transmission with a bi-directional quick shifter. The torque readings of the bike have not been disclosed by the company as of yet but by the sounds of the engine and transmission that is part of this bike, we are expecting it to be very impressive.

It is expected that the suspension will be identical to the RS 660s fully adjustable 41 mm KYB inverted forks with mono-shock absorbers. We except that the braking duties of the bike will be handled by twin front and single rear disc brakes with Brembo calipers.

We are hoping that the bike is not as black as the prototype is in the image above. Bike enthusiasts hope that the bike will be a work of art when it comes to the color choices as well as the detailing that can be added to the bike if the rider would like.
