Having an extensive collection of exclusive rides is something most of us dream about. Only a handful of rich people have enough money to buy dozens of expensive vehicles, and Jay Leno is one of them. Leno is famous for two things: for his comedic career and his car collection, one of the biggest in the world. He owns around 136 cars – all very expensive and very special. He also has 90 motorcycles. According to estimates, his collection is worth $50 million, which is 15% of his $350 million net worth.

With his knowledge of vintage and modern automobiles, he chooses the fanciest or the rarest cars for his garage. The place is filled with vintage rides, supercars, and sports cars. He shows off his collection on his CNBC show "Jay Leno's Garage". With millions of dollars spent on cars, Leno is the ultimate car enthusiast.

And here is our favorite car from Jay Leno's garage.

You may know of the McLaren P1 and its awesomeness, but Jay Leno gets to experience it firsthand. In the first week, he put 1,000 on his new ride. On March 25, 2014 he introduced the 2014 McLaren P1 to the world as it was delivered to the dealership in Beverly Hills. This was the very first American delivery of this supercar.

Before Leno went to drive the P1, only 80 models were spoken for. But after people found out he bought the car, the company could easily sell 375 units. McLaren says in Jay Leno's Garage episode that Leno is responsible for the success. Leno says that the P1 isn't like any other car because it doubles as a race car. He calls the duality "flawless."

To present his new car in the episode of "Jay Leno's Garage", he invited McLaren Automotive CEO, Mike Flewitt, to share his thoughts on what makes the P1 a unique car. Sitting next to his new ride and two other McLarens, they discussed the engineering that led to making the P1.

The P1's mid-engined 3.8L V8 with twin turbochargers produces 727 horsepower, with another 176 hp coming from a 130 kWh electric motor. The Kinetic Energy Recovery system eliminates lag from the turbochargers and helps the car get to its top speed.

The car can run on electricity for 6.8 miles. It comes with a charger that can charge the 3.9 kWh battery in two hours. The 2014 McLaren P1 features brake steer, which is banned from F1. It comes with a DRS button that levels the rear wing and gets you closer to a top speed of 217 mph. An Instant Power Assist system button boosts the power by using stored electric energy.

The power is carefully packaged in a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and ultra-stiff bodywork. The car is 180.6 inches long and rides on a 105.1-inch wheelbase. It weighs only 3.075 pounds dry and around 3,400 pounds with fluids. In 2014, the P1 received an aerodynamic package that includes the rear wing and front flaps that balance out the car when the wing is raised.

One of the most noticeable styling features is black panels. These are gloss-black accents around the side scoops, the front bumper and the roof. The panels are functional as they hide cooling and aero ducts. Besides, they mock Le Mans race cars that have a breather snorkel and a long windshield glass that goes over the seats in the cabin.

The McLaren P1 doesn't look like a typical supercar, and it will miss the mark for some peoples' vision of a performance machine. However, it is unique and memorable. The hood has reverse nostrils that vent hot air out. Internal flaps automatically adjust to keep the nose of the car glued to the road.

McLaren is known for its weight-saving techniques. They have been using ultra exotic metals all over their machines since the early 90s. This is why the 2014 P1 is stripped of such things as sound deadening and carpet. You can get them as very expensive extras. Needless to say, Jay Leno fitted his P1 with a plethora of optional features to make it a comfortable daily driver.

The main highlight in the cabin is a floating center console that can move the screen closer to driver's hands and at the right angle to avoid glare. The HVAC vents look like mini turbines and a dash panel is wrapped over the vent's feeder tubes.

The exposed carbon fiber shows off the MonoCage structure. According to McLaren, it is lighter than lacquered pieces. This is the car that won't shy away from competition. It is here to be the ultimate road automobile.
