About Transformers 3
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a 2011 American Science fiction action film. It was directed by Michael Bay and is based on the Transformers toy line. This movie is the third installment in the live-action Transformers film series. This movie is the sequel to Revenge of the Fallen which aired in 2009.
Fun fact: It is also the first film in the series that was not co-produced by DreamWorks, leaving Paramount Pictures as the sole distributor. This movie had a budget of $ 195 million which makes sense when you see how many amazing cars they decided to destroy.
The movie made around $ 1.1 billion through the Box Office which is astonishing!
What cars were used in Transformers 3?
There are so many different types of cars that are featured in this movie. It is safe to say that because the movie is based on toy cars, the producers needed to make sure that they produced a movie that had amazing cars to suit the toy design as well as make people of all ages interested in the movie. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
Mercedes-Benz cars are always featured in movies. They give the person driving the car some class as well as makes the people look awesome whilst they are driving it. The SLS AMG is a magnificent car that has a lot of power and you are able to see just how much power the car has in the movie.

It is frightening when you look back at the movie and think about the different cars that were featured. Now, think about all the action in the movie and how many cars and parts were flying all over the show…
Turns out, that a total of 532 cars were destroyed in the making of Transformers 3. Most of these cars had floor damage which means by law, they had to be taken to the scrap yard anyway… The producers of this movie just gave the cars a bit of a detour before their final resting destination at the metal heap.

Transformers 3 destroyed a lot of cars in the movie. Yes most of them were donated and had damage so they needed to be destroyed but is destroying this many cars in a movie normal?
In the Fast & Furious 5 movie, only 250 cars were destroyed for the making of that film. If you look at the entire franchise, they have wrecked, mangled, burnt, driven off the cliffs, dove into the water, more than 1 000 cars to date!
