Let’s Start With Manny Khoshbin’s Exposed Carbon McLaren P1 And Hermes Speedtail

Doug Demuro reviews 2014 McLaren P1

Manny’s McLaren P1 is a 2014 model and has quite the history before its matte-black bare-carbon look. Ed explains that the hypercar was previously painted in a controversial Chameleon shade over a bare-carbon body. The latter being an option worth $250,000! Unsurprisingly, Manny opted to have it, but the choice of color is not a personal favorite of ours. Although, it certainly gave the car an unmistakable look.

However, the hypercar stayed a “chameleon” for a short while. Manny being Manny, bought another bare-carbon body from McLaren and painted it to the matte-black/satin look that most of us are familiar with. John Temerian adds that McLaren P1s are increasingly finding interest among new-age collectors. In terms of prices, Ed Bolian values the car at $1.8 million, and so does John Temerian. John Ficarra, on the other hand, values the car slightly above, at $1.9 million.

According to the appraising trio, the Speedtail seems to be an oddball in the McLaren lineup. Ed Bolian is not a huge fan of the car, as are John Temerian and John Ficarra, finding it to be a “gimmick” and something unworthy of the F1’s iconic central driving position. Ed values the hypercar at $3.2 million, John Ficarra at $3 million, and John Temerian prices it at $2.5 million.

If you’ve been following Manny for a while, you’ll recall that he had four Bugattis in his collection: a regular Veyron 16.4, a Mansory Veyron, a Veyron Rembrandt, and a Hermes one-of-one Chiron. He sold the former two, and the team is appraising the rest of the lineup. The extremely rare Rembrandt Veyron is a Grand Sport Vitesse with gorgeous brown-carbon all-exposed bodywork, making it even more special, says John Temerian. Given the Bugatti Mistral is the only open-top successor to the Veyron GS, it makes the hypercar all the more covetable. Ed Bolian values Manny’s Veyron Rembrandt at $2.6 million, John Temerian at $2.9 million, and John Ficarra puts it at $2.75 million.

As for the Chiron, which is yet another gorgeous one-of-one item, having bespoke leather, paint, and Hermes accents. Brilliant spec, brilliant car. Ed and John Ficarra value it at $3.5 million, while John Temerian finds the Hermes Chiron worth $3.7 million in today’s market.

The team appraised his Pagani Huayra Hermes Edition and finds it to be an absolute beauty, as is the case with most Paganis. Ed and Temerian find the Huayra Hermes worth $2.3 million, while John Ficarra values it a touch under, at $2.25 million.

The next car is Manny’s Ford GT Ken Miles Heritage Edition, which the team values between $1.1 and $1.2 million. The appraising trio moves on to Manny Khoshbin’s collection of Mercedes-Benz SLR McLarens. With seven cars in his possession, Ed and Ficarra value them at $350,000 each for a total of 2.45 million, while Temerian adds another $50,000, valuing them at $2.5 million.

Finally, the team appraises his 992 Porsche GT3 and 911 Targa Heritage Edition, valuing them at $275,000 each, and moves on to his Roll-Royce collection. All told, the entire car collection is worth a touch under $20 million. Ed Bolian estimates Manny Khoshbin’s car collection at $19,150,000, Ficarra at $19,145,000, and Temerian values the collection to be worth $19,010,000. Of course, cars are constantly moving in and out of the collection, so values may change over time. Nonetheless, it’s impressive that Manny Khoshbin achieved all this despite his modest origin as an Iranian immigrant.
