The new 2022 Aprilia RSV4 Factory has a lot to offer, but its powerful performance is definitely its most prominent feature.

Power is generated by a 1,099cc DOHC four-stroke V4 engine with a 13.6:1 compression ratio. In terms of specs, the engine pumps out a generous 217 hp at 13,000 rpm and 92 lb-ft of torque at 10,500 rpm. The performance features have not changed much from the 2021 variant, and why would it, when it works so well? Due to the upgrades made in 2021, the bike now meets Euro 5 emission regulations as well. While official 0-60 mph and quarter-mile times have not yet been officially released, expect the RSV4 to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 3 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in just over 10 seconds. The transmission is a six-speed cassette-type gearbox with the Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS) electronic system to help make the shifts even faster. It also features dynamic front air intakes, liquid cooling system and refined drive-by-wire engine management helping maximize performance while keeping the engine cool.

In terms of suspension, the RSV4 boasts Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 which ensures that the bike can adapt to any surface be it road or track, at any level of performance. Suspension travel is pretty solid, with 125 mm at the front and 115 mm in the rear. Furthermore, there are a variety of adjustments that can be made to both the front and rear suspension, such as spring pre-load, rebound damping and hydraulic compression. Aprilia provides powerful Brembo calipers with large brake rotors to ensure adequate stopping power, dual 330 mm rotors at the front and a 220 mm rotor in the rear. Additionally, the RSV4 features 17" forged aluminum-alloy wheels with a 5 split-spoke design. Factory tires are Radial tubeless with a 120/70 ZR 17 in the front and a 200/55 ZR 17 in the rear, with the option to upgrade to 190/50 ZR 17 in the front and 190/55 ZR 17 in the rear.

We all know that aesthetic appearance is another really significant factor for any vehicle, especially performance vehicles.

The reasoning goes that powerful vehicles should look powerful and Aprilia understanding this logic, has provided an all-new Ultra Dark color scheme for the 2022 RSV4 Factory models. The new color scheme blacks out almost every surface on the bike, using both a shiny black and a matte black to give the appearance of a custom performance beast. Believe it or not, dechroming is an aftermarket procedure available for both motorbikes and cars to get rid of shiny metal surface, replacing it with black to give it a sporty, custom look. The fact that Apriliia is now offering an Ultra Dark color scheme shows that they understand their customers and recognize that there is a demand for such aestheticism.

So what does this new Ultra Dark color scheme actually entail?

All of the previous surfaces that were a different color have now been finished in matte black. Furthermore, gold accents furnish the bike in various places, contrasting the black to give a sporty and elegant feel to this powerful beast.

Admittedly, there is still a fair amount of information regarding this new that remains unknown.

The Aprilia official website does not list the Ultra Dark colorway as of the time of writing this article, however, the update is bound to appear any date. Aprilia has not released the price of this color scheme but expect it to be a little more than $25,999, which is the current price for the standard 2021 Aprilia RSV4 Factory. Furthermore, the exact date of when the RSV4 will be available to order in this color scheme has not yet been revealed.

All in all, this new colorway looks insane, so keep your eyes peeled as it's bound to be available very soon.
