A couple of days back, Bruce Springsteen found himself at the center of unwarranted criticism surrounding his appearance in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep. It is not the first time the American singer-songwriter has found himself making headlines. The Born T Run artist has a knack for grabbing headlines. In somewhat less controversial circumstances, the legendary artist is often captured by the paparazzi spinning around in some of his favorite cars. And Springsteen's car collection is anything but ordinary. He owns a plethora of classic cars from the 20th century. In an interview with GQ-Magazine, Bruce Springsteen was quoted saying: "I have a garage full of cars that I’ve collected over the years. They’re not collector’s pieces; they’re what I call drivers. A small collection of older American vehicles that I get in and drive once in a while." One look at Springsteen's car collection, and it is evident why the Tougher Than The Rest artist is in awe of his collection.

Apart from his classic Chevy and Ford models, he also owns modern-day Range Rover (the only European car brand that Springsteen owns) and Jeep models. Let's have a look at some of the cars that Bruce Springsteen drives.

We might run out of fingers if we were to count the number of classic cars Bruce Springsteen houses inside his garage. One of his classic cars, the Chevy Impala Convertible, was gifted to him by R&B singer Gary Bonds. Apart from the Impala Convertible, Springsteen also owns other classic gems such as Chevrolet Corvette C1 Convertible (1960), Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (1963), Ford XL Convertible (1969), Ford F100 Pick-Up Truck (1970), Chevrolet Z28 Camaro (1982), and more. However, one that stands out from his classic car collection is the Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. Despite writing many songs about cars, Springsteen was yet to own his own wheels back in the '70s. However, following the success of his third album, Born To Run, the singer-songwriter shelled out a whopping $2,000 and bought himself a baby-blue Chevy Bel Air Convertible. In his recent, best-selling memoir, Springsteen writes: "In '70s New Jersey, the car was still a powerful image. That summer, I bought my first set of wheels. It was a '57 Chevy with dual, four-barrel carbs, a Hurst on the floor, and orange flames spread across the hood." The "orange flames spread across the hood" that Springsteen is referring to was the customized look Springsteen had given to his Bel Air Convertible. The Chevy Bel Air Convertible's design was undeniably beautiful. It was a cherished classic that stands tall among the most good-looking cars of all time. The interiors were posh, comfy, and super spacious. The steering wheel boasted a full-chrome horn ring. Powered by a robust engine, the Bel Air was a beacon of efficient performance and smooth acceleration. It boasted a "0 to 60 miles per hour time" of 12.9 seconds. The Bel Air is considered by many to be "an icon of its age; right alongside Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, and Leave it to Beaver," and is among the most recognizable American cars of all time. Though Springsteen and his Bel Air's romance lasted just for a year, it was a romance well worthy of a Netflix original.

Despite Springsteen's appreciation for English imports, he doesn't own many English cars. While the singer-songwriter owns a couple of vintage Triumph motorcycles, a new Norton 961 Commando, and a couple of Harley-Davidsons, the Range Rover L322 happens to be the only European (and English, of course) car in his garage. Bruce Springsteen's Range Rover is an all-black monster. At the heart of his Range Rover is a 5.0 supercharged V8 engine that delivers smooth and efficient performance. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just over 8 seconds and boasts a top speed of 124 miles per hour. The interiors are luxurious and spacious. There are a bunch of infotainment options that can be viewed on a 12-inch LCD TFT screen.

The Super Bowl commercial isn't Bruce Springsteen's first collaboration with Jeep. The legendary artist has been loyal to the Jeep brand since the '90s. Ever since he married his E Street bandmate in 1991, the Jeep Cherokee has been a mainstay in the Springsteen garage. The singer-songwriter has acknowledged that the Cherokee is somewhat a family car for the Springsteen's. They keep it parked at their horse ranch in Colts Neck, New Jersey.

Bruce Springsteen's current Jeep vehicle is a third-gen Cherokee. It is equipped with three different four-wheel-drive systems: Active Drive I, Active Drive II, and Active Drive Lock. Each of these four-wheel-drive systems is loaded with Jeep's Selec-Terrain traction control system and rear-axle disconnect feature. At the heart of Springsteen's Cherokee is a 2.4L Tigershark I4 engine. A fuel economy of 31 miles per gallon makes the Cherokee a reliable friend for long drives and weekend getaways. It can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just over 5 seconds. Springsteen's all-black Cherokee can clock up to 150 miles per hour at full speed.
