First ever American Idol winner and singer Kelly Clarkson hosts the “The Kelly Clarkson Show," which features some incredible celebrity guests and gets them talking about all manner of things—including cars. This past week, she has been lucky enough to talk to Wilmer Valderrama, star of That ‘70s Show, and it quickly turned to that of classic cars, and how he bought a car from the show for $500.
The Show's Classic Oldsmobile Station Wagon
That car was perhaps not quite a classic Oldsmobile, but it was an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser, which usually appeared in the opening credits of the show as well as being on Eric Forman’s driveway. Wilmer played Fez in the show, and Kelly asked what happened to the car when the show was over. And Wilmer’s answer surprised her. He bought the Vista Cruiser from the show and wanted to take it home and he now has no intentions at all to let the car go and see it move on to new pastures.
Wilmer headed over to the guys who were selling the props for the show, and among them was the very same Vista Cruiser. He had to get his hands on it, so he asked them how much for it. They were shocked he wanted it and said, “you don’t want that!” but Wilmer was adamant, and he said he did. So they offered it to him for a mere $500. Quite frankly, it was too good of an offer to turn down.

Wilmer says that throughout his whole career, the Cruiser is the one that he is the happiest about acquiring from all of his various shows. Perhaps it is not a surprise, as the Vista Cruiser is quite an attractive old station wagon, and being from the show, had it gone to auction it surely would have gone for a lot more than the mere $500 that Wilmer was lucky enough to acquire it for. That ‘70s Show aired from 1998 until 2006, so Wilmer has had the car in his collection for quite a few years now.
