The Hoonigan crew are well renowned for their epic videos of various cars tearing down the drag strip. The most popular series is of course This vs That that brings together two epic and usually very different machines, to see how they get on against one another.

This latest episode of that series has Damon from Daily Driven Exotics bring down his 780 hp Lamborghini Aventador SVJ to race up against an 800 hp Chevy C10 pickup.

The Two Animals Compared

These are two very, very different vehicles with not that many similarities. The Aventador SVJ has 20 more hp than the Chevy C10, owned by Austin, and a seven-speed single clutch transmission.

The Chevy C10 weighs in at 3,300 lbs compared to the 3,600 lbs of the Lamborghini. The Aventador SVJ has a 6.5-liter V12 engine and all-wheel drive, whereas the Chevy C10 has a 6.0-liter LS engine and has four-wheel drive.

The SVJ does not have many modifications bar a new exhaust system, whereas the C10 has quite a few modifications such as the DS Racing turbo which is 85 mm and Chevrolet Avalanche radiators. And it was literally finished just before the Hoonigan challenge!

The Hoonigan guys split their opinions on who will come out on top between the Lamborghini and the C10. The first race as always is a 1,000 ft head-to-head, beginning the best of three. The C10 gets the launch off the line, but the Aventador SVJ then gets into its stride to haul past the very impressive truck in its first race.

It was definitely a close race! The next race is then negotiated as a 500 ft head-to-head between the two.

Going To A Third Round Shootout

The C10 looked to have the legs initially over 500 ft, and it just won against the Aventador SVJ, by half a car-length. Mighty impressive for a second ever pass, which sets up. The third and final race sees the truck get the hit to 1,000 ft, and this is for the overall win. The truck gets the hit and launches well, but so does the Aventador SVJ when that gets the power down. The Lamborghini starts to reel the truck back in, but it just loses out, making the untested and not even ran-in C10 the victor by half a car length.
