Founded in 1941, Jeep’s climb to the most recognizable brand is one of the most legendary stories of all time, and one that has been told over and over again. The brand was born in war, and as a major player in World War II, Jeep was tough, swift, and served different purposes. It could serve as an ambulance or tow armory, and it rarely got stuck.
Over the years, Jeep has passed through different owners, with some scoring successes and others experiencing woeful failures. Yet as it did in the war, the brand has soldiered on. However, America’s most notable SUV brand has been somewhat behind in the automobile electrification race, and this, along with competition from brands like Toyota, Land Rover, and the likes, has threatened their grip on the SUV market. With this in mind, most of the automaker’s plans for the next couple of years revolve around electrification. Follow us as we outline what Jeep has in store for the next three years.
10 Drone-Follow Feature
The drone-follow feature is proof that there is no end to technological innovations as far as Jeep is concerned. Although drones have been around for a while and can track moving objects, Jeep has outlined an innovative way of attaching drones to vehicles different from when Audi used it for headlights.
The drone pairing technology allows dashboard integration and will be used to capture stunning footage of off-road journeys, and can be used for entertainment as well as safety purposes.
9 Fully Electric EV In Each Segment By 2025
Jeep's plug-in hybrid vehicles are the next big thing in the automobile market, and the automakers announced that it is already making plans to go fully electric by 2025. That means every segment or trim of Jeep will have full electric, zero-emissions batteries. They teased that the EVs would have a target of 500 miles range and accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about 2.0 seconds.
In a recent announcement, Stellantis also said that they are set to establish four new STLA platforms worth over $36 billion investment to ensure that all its 14 brands become fully electric.
8 Solar Powered Charging Stations
Although Jeep doesn't own any fully electric vehicle yet, it plans to make EVs and install solar charging stations at off-roading trailheads.
To do this, Jeep will team up with Electrify America to establish the stations and ensure easy and convenient charging either through solar panels or connected power grids, with the main focus being the off-roaders and people in rural settlements. The said stations would have level 2 chargers and would be capable of giving full charge in two hours.
7 Flat-Seat Stargazing
Jeep is set to offer its riders all the comfort an automobile is capable of. In addition to the heated seats, flat seats will also be a part of the firm’s future models. This feature would allow the 4x4 cabin to be reclined into a bed when needed.
Campers and lovers of nature will be able to fold down their seats and relax while also stargazing whether the vehicle is on the move or not. This idea would take the luxury in Jeep vehicles to a whole new level.
6 Jeep E-Shop
Jeep presents its customers with an e-shop platform to make shopping more convenient. With a few clicks on your PC, you can complete the entire purchasing process, including paperwork and an e-signature. You can also request home delivery and have your Jeep delivered to you from the comfort of your home.
The most thrilling part is, you get to configure or customize it to your preferred trim, features, colors, and available packages. On the e-shop, you can also ask all your questions, book a test drive appointment, or list your used Jeep for sale.
5 Autonomous Off-Road Driving
Automakers have in times past worked on taking driving stress off the driver, and that's what Jeep plans to achieve with its autonomous driving technology. Future Jeep models will be equipped with a level 2 Hands-on fully autonomous off-road driving technology as well as remote vehicle tracking features that can take over driving functions, guaranteeing a greater level of safety for all riders.
With this driverless feature, it is possible to send off your vehicle alone for extra supplies, or in cases of incapacitation, riders are assured of being driven to safety.
4 Biometric Recognition
From activity keys to phone-unlock technology and now biometric recognition, the days of conventional car keys are almost over. Jeep has unfolded plans to install biometric recognition technologies that allow users to access their vehicles by scanning their faces or thumbs outside the vehicle.
Future Jeeps may be able to identify users using high-resolution cameras and sensors and allow them access to or release them from the car without using keys, phones, or remembering passwords.
3 Peer To Peer Charging
Jeep's plans to never leave a stranded driver behind. Think of it as sucking gasoline to fuel another car. Future Jeep EV users could share charge points between themselves, especially in remote areas, where power may not be readily available.
This concept of peer-to-peer charging is simple; all that is required is that the two cars come close, connect with a cord, and the electrons will flow between them, from the higher to the lower tank. Not only is the concept time-saving, but it could also encourage more people to delve into the purchase of EVs.
2 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe
Jeep has released teasers of the 2022 Jeep grand Cherokee 4xe, which promises to be sportier, redefined, and more updated than its predecessor. For starters, the infotainment would come with a 10-inch touchscreen display, an additional front passenger screen for co-pilot assistance, and a nine-speaker Alpine stereo system.
Jeep says you can also choose from a V6, V8, or hybrid plug-in engine, which generates up to 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque with a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.
1 Free Maintenance Of All 2021 Cars For 3 Years
One piece of good news for all Jeep users is that the manufacturer will be offering scheduled free maintenance for the first three years or 36,000 miles for all users, whether first users or leased. This comes as an improvement of the wave loyalty program and part of its 80th-anniversary celebration.
The maintenance will include 24-hours customer service/assist, free oil changes, tire rotation, and a trip interruption protection plan worth about $1,000 in cases where your Jeep is sidelined for repairs and about $35 in car-rental compensation. There is also VIP access and treatment to designated Jeep brand events.''
