When the 2020 Volkswagen GTI came with its mind-blowing features, many thought that Volkswagen had got to its peak in producing the best of vehicles. Come on, and the 2020 Volkswagen GTI was to die for!

We saw features like a tool that predicts your destination based on previous movements, information, and entertainment features, a more spacious trunk (that can comfortably contain a bike), and wheels made of alloy.

However, Volkswagen took the bar a notch higher by revealing the VW Golf 8 GTI Clubsport. This car has been referred to by some automobile enthusiasts as the "best Golf GTI."

It might not be the best hatchback that money can buy, but the VW Golf GTI is still a benchmark vehicle among other popular hatchbacks.

As has been the case in previous eras, the GTI Clubsport is a great upgrade to the quite sublime GTI. 2006 was the year we first got a feel of the GTI Clubsport, in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the popular car.

It had 265 horsepower and an over-boost feature that could temporarily take up to 290 horsepower.

The Clubsport S version came next the same year. It had 310 horsepower and was limited edition as only 400 units were made available for purchase. How does the latest version stack up against the older models?

The VW Golf 8 Clubsport has 300 horsepower. The front wheels are where you would find the power, as was the case in previous models. To ensure more constant track performance, the design makes use of the lightning-fast 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Consequently, this automobile can hit a limited top speed of 155 mph. This does not take anything away from the Golf 8 Clubsport, owing to the fact that a track car isn't always about top speeds and acceleration times.

A regular Golf GTI is quite potent, but the Golf 8 Clubsport manages to outperform it. It can produce 295bhp from a tweaked 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine, and this is 54bhp higher than the Golf GTI.

The torque is also increased to 400Nm, and quite remarkably, there is only a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, meaning that there is no manual option.

The Golf 8 Clubsport can hit 62 mph in 5.6 seconds, three-quarters of a second faster than the Golf GTI. The automobile was designed to be engaging in a way that can't be matched by the basic GTI. There are quite a few chassis changes in this regard as the car rests at 10mm lower all around.

There are also new dampers at the rear as well as strings in addition to more front camber. It also boasts of super beefed-up brakes with 357mm discs and an important returning of its electronically controlled limited-slip differential.

Being an 8th Generation Golf GTI, the Golf 8 Clubsport has a remodeled front bumper which is the most visible feature on its front end. It also has an assertive and massive honeycomb grille that goes all the way under the bumper.

The familiar VW logo still maintains its distinct Golf design on the slim radiator grille. There is a new larger front splitter that is very helpful in lowering the front lift, and the aero guide bits are exterior-colored.

Its rear end has an eye-catching, functional rear spoiler that is finished in black gloss. In comparison to the regular GTI, the Clubsport has an oval tailpipe that is 40mm longer and also features a new ribbed diffuser.

The Golf 8 Clubsport has 18-inch wheels (7.5 J 18 ET 51) rolled around in 250/40 R18 tires on the side. The design borrows greatly from the regular GTI's 17-inch wheels. 19-inch rim styles will be made accessible as well.

There are red brake calipers with GTI lettering right behind the wheels, which goes well with the widened sills on the side with black stripe graphics.

As suggested by the heading, the Golf 8 Clubsport has an interior that is dependent on a touchpad to interact with and engage any desired function of the car.

The steering wheel is flat bottomed with perforated leather on the horizontal sides for a more firm grip with the GTI lettering at the bottom.

It also features a reliable high-resolution infotainment interface as well as a clean and simple dashboard design. The Clubsport is not just any Volkswagen Golf; and it is the Golf of the year.

The VW Golf 8 Clubsport could be yours for about $44,000, and it's an absolute steal at a price given the wonderful features that this automobile contains.
