The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a car that hit the Korean market in 2008. The rear-wheel sports car shares the same layout as the Genesis luxury sedan range. Not long after its initial release to the Korean market, Hyundai took the Genesis Coupe to the US market in 2009.

Hyundai USA acting president and CEO John Krafcik described the Genesis Coupe as being designed "...to deliver a driving experience that challenges cars like the Infiniti G37".

Although it did do well, the model went into discontinuation in 2016. Yet, it is still a ride many will see on the roads today as it's pretty affordable.

Although it might not be the best-looking sports car, the Genesis Coupe is highly underrated. Genesis Coupe trims are based around two engine choices, a 2.0-liter spec or a 3.8-liter spec. There are various trims available including the base model, R-Spec, Premium, and Grand Touring. The track trim is also available but only in the 2010 models and after.

The base model, which includes the 2.0-liter engine, is capable of plenty of power. Yet, the 3.8-liter can offer in excess of 300-hp, which is pretty rare for a Hyundai sports car.

Moreover, the base model of the Genesis Coupe isn't shy of trendy and convenient features. These features include keyless entry, steering wheel audio controls, USB/iPod + Aux input, and Bluetooth hands-free for fun and convenience. For the safety system, the Genesis Coupe offers a tire pressure monitoring system, cruise control, electronic stability control, ABS, and electronic brake-force distribution. Externally, the car is kit out with 18-inch wheels and a strut bar for that ultimate sports car look.

The 2009 Genesis Coupe isn't shy in power nor is it short of fun. However, it isn't an overly expensive ride. In fact, for a sports car, it is very affordable.

In today's market, a 2009 Genesis Coupe can be found for anywhere between $4,000 and $6,500. It will be rare to find one for more than $6,500, which is an insane price for such a powerful ride.

The cheaper models are those with more mileage on the clock and maybe some exterior defects. However, for the price, any buyer could easily fix up the appearance for a few hundred dollars. Likewise, the more expensive models will likely be those of a higher trim or a with a bigger engine. For this price, it is incredible to get any car with an engine that can offer more than 300-hp. It is a bargain.

Overall, anyone that is looking for an affordable sports car should spy out a 2009 Genesis Coupe. It offers convenience, power, reliability, and plenty of features that will satisfy your everyday needs. It performs just like a modern-day ride and for the price, you won't get anything as good as the Genesis Coupe.
