When we covered the release of the MC20, we were slightly surprised that we didn't see any images of the new Maserati supercar in red. This is the color of passion, a key hallmark of all Italian car companies including Maserati. Today, though, they've pulled the veil off of this brand new color that will only be available on their MC20. They say they've created it with a volcano in mind. If there's anything that's completely unstoppable, that's it.

Maserati Intends To Inspire Drivers With This Winning Color

The proper name of this volcano red shade is Rosso Vincente. Translated from Italian that means Winning Red. While Maserati isn't wildly well known for their racing exploits in modern times, they've been involved in motorsports throughout their history and even their last supercar, the MC12, was built specifically for racetracks.

This MC20 is their first in a long time built with no help from Ferrari and it's clear that with Rosso Vincente, they're doing their best to distinguish their red from their Modena competition. It's a bit more glossy, a bit brighter, and seems a bit more like it's actively on fire. If it ends up being as inspiring to drive as it is to look at, Maserati will certainly make a bigger dent on the supercar market.
