Audi has expanded their electric vehicle lineup, which includes three versions of the E-Tron, plug-in hybrids, and future concepts. The company aims to make its lineup 30% electric by 2025, with a commitment to net CO2-neutral operations by 2050. Along with the E-Tron, which is available in SUV, Sportback or GT models, mild hybrid integration with the RS6 and the Q5 plug-in hybrid.

The automaker plans to expand its lineup in coming years with models such as the A6 E-Tron, scheduled for 2022, and concepts including the Aicon. Audi’s electric technology includes fast charging speeds, an electric AWD platform, and next-generation driver assistance systems.

The E-tron SUV is part of Audi's flagship trio of fully electric vehicles and starts at an MSRP of $65,900. This version has a 95kWh battery and total output of 402hp. Audi claims a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds and a towing capacity of 4,000lbs. Standard air suspension softens the ride and aerodynamic design helps it achieve a drag coefficient of 0.30.

Audi adds a touch of elegance to the SUV with LED lighting schemes, a 705W Bang and Olufsen 3D premium sound system and home charging. Its 10.1” infotainment screen includes the Audi MMI interface with haptic feedback and a virtual cockpit display. The Driver Assistance System includes collision sensing, cruise assist and a virtual 360° overhead camera.

The E-Tron Sportback, offered at $69,100, includes the same battery as the SUV and a total of 402hp and 490lb-ft of torque. E-Quattro AWD is standard along with multiple drive modes. The E-Tron accommodates charging speeds of up to 9.6kW AC and 150kW DC with high-speed J1772 and CCS connectors. A Black Optic Package is available on the Sportback for a striking glossy black aesthetic.

A driver-focused coupe version of the E-Tron comes in the form of the GT Quattro and RS E-Tron GT. This model runs on an 800V system with a dual permanent synchronous motor supplying power to each axle. The GT and RS editions offer 522hp and 637hp, respectively, and start at an MSRP of $99,900.

The 2021 RS6 Avant incorporates a 48V mild hybrid system with its twin-turbo 4.0L V8 for a total output of 591hp and 590lb-ft of torque. The 2021 Q5 is offered in a TFSI Hybrid edition, which also includes Quattro all-wheel drive and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Electric prototypes such as the Aicon concept and PB18 e-tron have not come to fruition as of yet, but newer models may build upon their foundation. The A6 e-tron, a fully electric fastback, is slated for a 2022 release. This model will incorporate the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE), an 800V system with fast charge capability of up to 270kW.
