Many are seeing the re-release of the KLR 650 as the rebirth of a legend. It appears different and sure drives different, yet it is still a KLR 650 at heart thanks to its dual purpose. The new KLR 650 will still be suitable for on and off-roading. That means that no matter if you are into adventure riding or need a bike for your daily commute, the 2022 Kawasaki KLR 650 can fulfill both purposes.

Kawasaki has kitted their bike from the inside out. The bike looks pretty different appearance-wise, and it's available in more colors, such as orange or graphite. The bike is far more modern and appealing than its predecessor. Most features have nailed it on the head, aside from its LCD screen, which still looks a tad outdated. Nonetheless, overall the legend is being reborn and what matters most is how it performs.

Now that it is over 30 years on, the team at Kawasaki is of course going to add many upgrades to the new KLR 650. It is still keeping its dual-purpose abilities, yet it has a whole new look, driving ability, and sleekness to it.

Inside, the bike oozes more than you might imagine. For 2022, Kawasaki has upgraded the KLR 650 to a fuel-injected engine. The 652 cc four-injection Kawasaki engine will likely offer more power and speed than the previous model. However, those statistics haven't been released yet. Some reports show that the bike can top 150 hp, even when off-road. So, you sure won't be stripped of fun when you want to glide across uneven tracks.

For its design, riders will be able to enjoy a 1/2-inch bar just above the dash, which is great for mounting a phone or GPS for convenience. For the features that require battery power, the bike now has 80 watts of additional power available for electronic accessories or heated gear. What's more is that Kawasaki has kitted the 2022 KLR 650 out with an adjustable taller windscreen, a more comfortable seat that sits lower, reduced vibration on the feet with new footpegs, and a broader handlebar bend. The ride oozes more comfort and convenience than the first and last model, which is ideal for riders who want to enjoy its off-roading abilities.

Extra comfort and reliability come from the KLR 650's upgraded chassis. The bike is fitted with a sub-frame, which is more rigid and durable than before. Thus, the bike has a greater load capacity and can withstand more than before.

As previous owners of the KLR 650 will know, the bike features very few buttons. This is because it has very few electronics. The new 2022 model will feature an optional ABS system, which is more for extra precaution than anything else. It is ideal for newbie riders and those who want to always feel safe and in control of their bike.
