The spotlight is taken over by the all-new Sport trim of the 2023 Honda Odyssey. It is an aesthetic makeover that gives this soccer mom van, a sinister look. Honda has positioned the Sport model between the EX-L and Touring trims. The Sport trim gets blacked-out exterior bits that include the grille, the trimming around headlights and fog lights, door mirrors, B- and C-pillars, and its 19-inch wheels.

The Sport trim is offered in three exterior shades - Platinum White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, and Radiant Red Metallic; all of which look killer with the contrasting black bits. The aesthetic makeover is carried over to the Odyssey Sport's interior as well. It flaunts black leather with contrasting red stitching for the steering wheel and its first and second-row seats.

The roof pillar linings and headliner are all black for a cool mono-tone look. Red ambient lighting adds to its sporty drama on and under the dashboard, and the front door panels. All the other technology and comfort features are shared with the well-equipped 2023 Odyssey EX-L trim.

2023 Honda Odyssey Loses The LX Trim And Gets A Price Bump

Honda has also discontinued the base LX trim from 2022. The refreshed Odyssey is now offered in five trim levels - EX, EX-L, Sport, Touring, and Elite. With the discontinuation of the base trim, the 2023 Odyssey's starting MSRP has seen a steep increase with the base EX trim now starting at $37,340 as compared to last year's LX which had an MSRP of $33,040. That's a bump of $4,300! The top-spec Elite trim has an MSRP of $49,470 (a reasonable bump of $700).

A Few Other Notable Fresh Bits For the 2023 Odyssey

Honda has also given a few common updates for the 2023 Odyssey. It gets a new Sonic Gray Pearl exterior shade. And the Rear Seat Reminder system is now standard which can be integrated with the optional CabinWatch child viewing system.

The 2023 Odyssey also packs a new Honda Service Pass, a first-ever feature from the carmaker. It is a new complementary service plan that offers buyers of the Odyssey free scheduled maintenance at an authorized Honda dealership for 2 years/ 24,000 miles. This will help lower the cost of owning an Odyssey and the package includes oil and filter changes, tire rotation, and multipoint inspections.

Every 2023 Odyssey continues to be powered by a peppy 280 hp V6 motor mated to a 10-Speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels only. EPA rating remains unchanged and wholesome at 19/28/22 for city/highway/combined respectively. The 2023 Honda Odyssey line-up will start reaching dealerships in late May 2022.
