Visceral is one word enough to describe Lamborghini's Huracan. The world faced this Italian fast-going car in 2014. It continued the path of Lamborghini's flagship supercar at the time, the Gallardo. Inheriting a brutal V10, the Lamborghini Huracan came to sit among the McLaren 720S, the Ferrari F8 Tributo, and the Ferrari 812 Superfast, just after it was launched and without a prologue.

Whether a 2-door coupe or a 2-door convertible, the Huracan looked just like a shark on roads longing for escapees. It left it up to the buyers (like many can actually afford a >$200,000 supercar) to choose between a rear-wheel-drive or the full option. If you go with the latter one, sit tight and see how this unstoppable creature gets you from 0-60 MPH in just 2.5 seconds. Later on, the street-legal version called the Huracan STO came out to blur the boundaries between racetracks and streets.

Lamborghini, however, is always hungry to build more powerful ones; hence a stronger Huracán was inevitable. The Performante was introduced in the Geneva Motor Show back in 2017 as the track-oriented alternative, and it stepped up Huracán's game. The sturdier version of the Italian V10-loaded Gallardo successor, the Huracán Performante, is the true hurricane threatening anyone in the realm of sports cars, and this is what's special about it.

Let's take a closer look at the Huracán Performante and what makes it special.

Is The Huracán Performante Like Others? Guess Not…

Countless swift cars have decked out the history of sports cars, from the '80s iconic ones to those of the next decade, and so on. Dare I say the Huracán Performante deserves to be called such? Yes, without a doubt. The Performante enjoys the same engine as the Huracán and the German Audi R8, a vigorous 5.2-liter V10, but it boasts more engaging figures to bring startled expressions on anyone's face.

Pure 631 HP at 8,000 rpm and immense 443 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm come out of the tuned version of the V10. Remember the 0-60 MPH in 2.5 seconds of the Huracán? It was crazy, wasn't it? Well, we have a more astounding record here for the Performante (it's a little scary rather fun!) as it shaves off 0.3 seconds to reach the same speed. And how fast can it go? A maximum top speed of around 204 MPH is a no-bother amount to smash for the performance-focused version of Huracán.

Is That All That Makes The Performante This Outrageous?

The tuned V10 is cool, but there are more factors to be involved in the Performante's breathtaking performance. The Huracán's track-focused variant gets a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending power to all four wheels. Thanks to the active aerodynamic capability of the Performante, the enormous output is no longer threatening (you'd better be cautious, though).

Add to these the double-wishbone suspension springs and dampers made of aluminum along with re-calibrated dynamic steering, and you'll feel how a race car actually drives; there's more accuracy within the handling and more stiffness on the whole. With a low-weight exhaust system (the more lighter, the wilder), dry-sump oil system, and an improved intake system, the Performante welcomes all the toughness of racetracks.

The Interior Of The Huracán Performante Has Signs Of Frugality Everywhere

It's not a surprise; supercars can't be more enchanting and good-looking on the outside, but we shouldn't expect them to offer a reach cabin stuffed with many side features. Besides, Italians have a unique taste regarding interior design, like the one for the legendary Ferrari F40.

There's sufficient space for both the driver and the passenger, but Lamborghini could be a little more generous on that. Bucket seats are somehow a signature for a race car, and that's what the Performante gives; they come way more comfortable and supportive than how they seem to be. The driver will feel comfy getting clear front visibility, but things are different for the outward visibility (the reverse camera will prove helpful).

It's not that shallow, though. It comes with the basics, such as a digital dashboard display, a simple gauge cluster, a climate control system, and active driving modes. More than that, the Performante features a reverse camera and heated power-adjustable seats. Technology-wise, this ride includes Apple CarPlay to boost up the quality, but the AndroidAuto is missed. An optional navigation system will show up next to the tachometer. And music? forget about it; nothing will out outreach the sound of that killing V10

The Lamborghini Huracán Performante stays as one of the most appreciated fast cars of all time. With the unique adjustable Carbon-Fibre rear wing and the rear and front bumpers slightly different from the primary Huracán, the HP is a distinct beauty hastening to go beyond the limits. And powerful V10 brings the ultimate value to it. Still, expectations of the interior were much higher for a six-figure car, as the Audi R8 suggests a better one. However, it's supposed to be fast in the first place; what goes inside is classic and unadorned, but that's what gives it a rare character.
