Chevrolet released some key dates on Monday, in its communication with dealers as to when the actual production of the 2023 ‘Vette will start. According to Corvette Blogger, the confirmed date for production to start is slated to be May 9th, with May 6 being the last build-out date of the 2022 Corvette C8.

Pre-order entries for the 2023 model are closing by March 24th, although Chevrolet is yet to announce the pricing of the Corvette C8 2023 model. People interested in the Z06 but wary of the price also need the information to figure out if the Z06 will be within reach for them this year.

That said; there are no separate Z06 allocation numbers. Chevy will be using “Average Daily Supply” numbers to allocate the 2023 models to the dealers, with guidance on the breakdown. So each number of Chevy 2023 C8 allocations will include a limited number of Z06s as well.

The very first 2023 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 is part of Lot #3009 at the Barrett-Jackson auction event in Scottsdale and will go under the hammer on Saturday, January 29.

The proceeds of the sale will go to Operation Homefront. It provides financial and housing support for the 9/11 wounded, as well as military families, and veterans.

What the final bid may be like is anyone’s guess, but when the first 2020 Corvette coupe went under the hammer, for charity, it went to NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick for a cool $3 million. At the time, all proceeds went to the Detroit Children’s Fund.

The Corvette C8 is proving to be a big thing in the market, and the Z06 trim is likely to be a supercar killer, at a fraction of the price. To finally see it go to production is exciting all the fans, especially those who have been waiting, with their wads of money, to get the mid-engined Corvette of their dreams.
