When Canadian Art Burke was recruited for the show in Season 7, he already had thirteen years of trucking experience behind him. Described as 'scrappy,' Burke was incredibly entertaining on the show and became a firm fixture in the show until its end in 2017.

He became widely known for his 'unfiltered' language, aggressive nature, and dark sense of humor. In 2020, three years after the show's end, the former cast member pleaded guilty to a very rare charge of causing arson by negligence.

This was in connection to an explosion that occurred when he was trying to make a concentrated form of cannabis called 'shatter.' According to reports, the explosion caused more than $60,000 worth of damage to neighboring properties on the street.

Burke himself spent twelve days in the hospital recovering from injuries and severe burns caused by the incident. Burke was sentenced to 18 months of house arrest, and he noted that the entire ordeal had cost him very dearly. Before this, Burke's estimated net worth was around $300,000.
