Hertz is introducing a special edition Corvette Z06 to their rental fleet for a limited time.

Have you ever wanted to get behind the wheel of a truly fast car? The Corvette Z06 certainly fits the bill with 650 hp on tap. The only problem is the price of admission: $80,000 is a good price for the amount of car you get, but it’s still out of reach for all by the top 5% of earners. Unless you want to be car-poor, which some people do, but a Corvette isn’t a great car to sleep in.

Sure, you could go to an exotic car dealer and maybe rent it for a few days, but renting from a place like that will still cost you an arm and a leg. If only there was a reasonably priced rental car company that would let you take out a ‘Vette for a spin.

Hertz hears us, and they have given us an answer. In celebration of their 100th anniversary, Hertz is offering 100 specially built Z06 Corvettes to anyone who wants to take them for a spin.

These ‘Vettes are basically the same as anything you’d find at a Chevrolet dealer. It’s the same 6.2-L supercharged V8 engine connected to the same 8-speed automatic transmission. The only differences are a custom yellow with black stripes paint job and a custom interior featuring black leather and yellow stitching.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come with a 10-speaker Bose audio system controlled by an 8-inch touchscreen.

The 100 Z06s will be available at 14 major airports across the country, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco and Tampa, with prices starting at just $199 per day. That doesn’t include fees, taxes, and insurance, which will push that number to $300 pretty easily depending on your location. But still, that’s a reasonable price for a few days of driving bliss.

Hertz didn’t say how long these cars would be available, but we’re thinking it’ll probably be for a few months. Since supplies are limited, you’ll want to call them up now if you want to get behind the wheel of one of these ‘Vettes before they’re gone.
