Two sports cars, a finely tuned Honda Civic 1.5T CVT and a BMW 330i XDrive, go head-to-head in what seems like a pretty fair drag race. They boast similar specifications, yet one of them simply leaves the other one standing. All the drag race excitement is available on the Sam CarLegion YouTube channel, with more details to follow here.

Comparing The Two Vehicles' Specs

When comparing the Honda Civic 1.5T CVT and BMW 330i XDrive, it is obvious to see that what's under the hood is quite similar for each of the cars. Although the BMW boasts a bigger engine, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo, which is half a liter bigger than the Honda's 1.5-liter turbo, the Honda offers more power. The Honda can offer a maximum of 300 hp, while the BMW 330i can only offer up to 285 hp.

With less power behind the BMW, there is also more weight, which can hinder its performance in comparison to the Honda. The BMW has a curb weight of 3,686 lbs, while the Honda is much lighter, with a curb weight of 3,104 lbs.

These specifications may seem that the Honda has a pretty good advantage over the BMW in this drag race, but only the race will tell.

The Drag Race Results

The drag race involves four runs. The first two involve the BMW in sports mode. The third offers a 31-mile per hour roll in sports mode again, and the final sees the BMW switch off its sports traction mode.

The two races that are the most interesting are the drag race-style runs, which offer the most realistic portrayal of how the two sports cars perform at their optimal level. In the first run, the BMW switches into sports mode by Sam CarLegion himself before setting off and getting off to a pretty fast start. The BMW flies off the starting line and leaves the Honda behind. Yet, within a matter of seconds, the Honda soon catches up and flies past the BMW and wins the race.

In run two, the BMW is in sports mode again and the owner of the Honda, Papeye from the Instagram account @the_batmobile_0.3, tries it this time. Papeye manages to keep the BMW in front of the Honda for longer. But, the Honda soon catches up again and zooms past it on the drag strip without a struggle.

All four races see the Honda Civic 1.5T CVT win and overall, it whoops the BMW 330i XDrive pretty badly. The BMW does give it a good go, yet, the power behind the Honda simply blows the BMW out of winning any race.
