This is set to be the first Honda brand electric vehicle in China, but no details are given of what it may or may not be. At the show itself, Honda says that the car will be revealed at the automobile booth where the plug-in hybrid model will also be revealed. Given that it is easy for details to be leaked these days, it’s a credit to Honda that major pieces of information on the cars have been kept this secret and so close to the event.

All we can do is speculate on what might be revealed. The lack of the word “concept in reference to either vehicle perhaps indicating that the cars, may appear as intended for production. On top of that, Honda is also set to showcase its already comprehensive lineup of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and EV vehicles to bolster the display with the new hybrid and EV.

Beyond that, the company is also ready to showcase at a separate technology booth. This will include the third-generation Honda Connect system that was recently announced in China, a possible indication that this could be on the new vehicles set to be revealed. It is certainly a shame that no further details of the new cars have been forthcoming but we certainly don’t have long to find out what tricks Honda has up its sleeve. And if their concept from 2020 and the Honda e are anything to go by, they could be real winners.
