The Hoonigan team is famous for some pretty epic drag races. The incredible This vs That series sees them bring together some utterly ludicrous builds. This particular episode however is very special indeed. The team has brought in two Honda Civics to face off against each other, one of which was recently featured on a Hoonigan video in their burnyard with a detailed look at its build. This is a battle of Honda and two very different ways of going fast.

Two Different Ways Of Getting Power

These two cars feature different ways of going fast. The first of these is a 1999 Honda Civic, and this comes from the guys at throtl. It is a rear-wheel drive car with a K20 and turbo under the hood, that provides 350 hp and has a six-speed manual transmission. It weighs in at 2,400 lbs. The second Civic meanwhile is a 1994 Honda Civic Si. This car belongs to Roger, and Hoonigan covered it in their burnyard in its epic Desert Saga Green. Under the hood here is a 400 HP supercharged GSR engine, and there is a five-speed manual transmission. It weighs in at 2,100 lbs and is front-wheel drive.

An Interesting Set Of Drag Races

These two cars are relatively evenly matched then, and it's interesting when it comes to the predictions. It is an even split on Roger’s Civic and the throtl machine. It’s a battle between front-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive. And when it comes to the first drag race of 1,000 ft head-to-head, it's an interesting one. Both car’s get away evenly, but then the front-wheel drive Civic puts the power down better, before the rear-wheel drive car catches up at the line to take the first victory.

Negotiating For A Best Of Three

It's time for a negotiation. The second race is another 1,000 ft head-to-head as it was a pretty close first race. Both cars get away well again, but Roger hooks it up a touch better this time and this time cruises to an easy victory. So it is all about round three for these two cars. For the final race, the two guys negotiate an epic 1,500 ft head-to-head. But right off the line, the throtl guy has an issue despite an even start and Roger takes the overall spoils for his amazing rear-wheel drive Honda Civic. But we get a bonus round of a 1,000 ft roll-race, to make up for the lost run. But the throtl Civic has another issue meaning its three out of four for Roger.
