After waiting for most of its competitors to produce their EV pickup trucks, Ram finally revealed its all-new all-electric Ram 1500 REV at the New York International Auto Show. The first battery-electric light-duty pickup truck from Ram, which abides by Stellantis' long-term strategic plan Dare Forward 2030, delivers mind-boggling disruptive and advanced technology.
It is apparent that the 2025 Ram REV pickup truck has surpassed numerous EV pickup truck standards and set new industry benchmarks. Although the Ram REV pickup truck fails to meet its concept's thresholds, it boasts the fastest charging among its competitors, such as the Ford F-150 Lighting, Rivian R1T, and Chevrolet Silverado EV.
Ram built the all-new 1500 REV all-electric truck on Stellantis' new STLA Frame body-on-frame architecture, specifically for full-size electric vehicles, and efficiently incorporates the battery pack. The zero-emission Ram 1500 REV can tow up to 14,000 lbs and a payload of up to 2,700 lbs. Considering towing and payloads reduce the range, Ram is considering adding a range extender.
Ram 1500 REV Is The Fastest Charging EV Pickup Truck
The Ram 1500 EV is the epitome of who laughs last laughs best when perfecting fast charging in EV trucks. Although the Lucid Air Pure is the fastest-charging EV, the 2025 Ram EV truck will take the trophy of the fastest-charging EV pickup truck.
With 10 minutes of charging time, the 2025 Ram 1500 electric truck can offer up to 110 miles of range at the DC charging station. As expected, the Ram 1500 REV attains its fastest charging time with the level 3 charging option, which uses up to 800 volts.
Ram REV 1500 comes with an 800-volt architecture with a charging capability of up to 350kW, adding approximately 11 miles per minute. Its closest competitor is the Chevy Silverado EV, which can add up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes. Better still, it beats the Ford F-150 Lightning, which charges from 15-80% in approximately 36 minutes using a 150kW and DC fast charger, and the Rivian R1T, which adds 140 miles in a mere 20 minutes using level 3 DC fast charging.
Being the first all-electric truck from Ram and having such impressive figures reflects deep research and innovation. Ram REV truck's new EV pickup trucks benchmark portrays a monumental milestone in offering the industry's best-electrified solutions, as Mike Koval Jr., Ram's CEO, indicates.
2025 Ram 1500 REV Has A Class-Shattering Range
After breaking the fastest EV truck charging time record, the next question would be, "What is the range of the Ram 1500 REV?" The range of the all-new Ram's all-electric pickup truck shows they meant business when designing the REV Ram. The 2025 electric Ram truck boasts a range of up to an unsurpassed 500 miles in the EV pickup category. That makes the REV Ram 1500 the second EV vehicle to claim a range of up to 500 miles after the 2023 Lucid Air.
The 2025 Ram electric truck comes with two battery options. The standard 168-kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack has a targeted range of 350 miles. The optional 229 kWh battery pack, larger than the Hummer EV SUT's 212 kWh, boasts the targeted 500-mile range. Interestingly, Ram will eventually deliver the Ram REV XR, which sounds like the gasoline range extender version.
2025 RAM 1500 REV Cool Features
The Ram 1500 REV provides new performance levels with two 250 kW electric drive modules combining the gearbox, motor, and inverter. One electric drive module is at the front axle, and the other in the rear axle, making an AWD EV truck. However, it has an automatic wheel-end disconnect that allows the front wheels to spin to maximize efficiency when needed. Further, it has an electronic-locking rear differential.
Ram's 1500 REV truck is capable of vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-home, and vehicle-to-grid charging bidirectional charging. It has a 7.2 kW power panel in its bed and a 3.5 kW power panel in its 15 cubic feet frunk. This stunning feature aligns with Ram's mission of making lives easier.
How Much Does The Ram Electric Truck Cost?
Ram 1500 REV promises the industry's best combination of charge timer, range, payload, and towing. With such a promise, the 2025 1500 REV will likely cost slightly higher than its competitors. However, Ram has not released official MRSP prices for the Ram 1500 REV in different trim levels.
But based on its competitors' pricing, the Ram 1500 REV's estimated starting price will be approximately $60,000 for its Tradesman trim level and $90,000 for its Tungsten trim level
