The Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 is a monster of a zero-emission machine that can dynamically blend in with scenic locations. Ford Performance proved this in a nearly 13-minute YouTube film in which Vaughn Gittin Jr. drove and drifted the Mustang Mach-E 1400 on and under the Faroe Islands. Just recently, Vaughn uploaded a new video detailing what went on behind the scenes.

A Glorious Tunnel Drifting Performance

Vaughn has become famous for doing stunts or making smoke with his breathtaking drifts. He once parked a Ford Bronco near the edge of a cliff at the Top of The World trail in Moab, Utah. Sometime in 2021, Vaughn and Ford Performance took their act to the Faroe Islands in Denmark. Aside from its beautiful inland views, the Faroe Islands are also proud of its numerous inter-island underwater tunnels.

In Ford Performance’s “Free Rein Faroe Island” video on YouTube, Vaughn started his journey from a sea vessel. He drove the Mustang Mach-E 1400 to the entrance of the Eysturoy tunnel, which sits 613 feet under the North Atlantic. This seven-mile long tunnel features a central roundabout, which Vaughn used as an arena for showing off his god-like drifting skills. He also played on the mountain roads and ultimately stopped by a windmill to charge the Mustang Mach-E 1400.

Mustang Mach-E 1400 Is No Match Against A Barrier

While the “Free Rein Faroe Island” video spans just 12 minutes and 40 seconds, Vaughn and Ford Performance planned the project for 12 months and executed it in just several days. Vaughn’s YouTube video “Underwater Donuts, Crashes and FUN in Faroe Islands BTS!!” revealed the story in those days. Many people, including Larry Chen, and high-tech cameras and drones were part of the project.

Nevertheless, the project was not incident-free. The BTS video revealed that while filming the scene near the entrance of the Esturoy tunnel in Runavik, Vaughn crashed his Mustang Mach-E 1400 on the wall-like road barrier. The EV suffered massive damage on the front end that the project crew had to conduct an extensive repair.

Vaughn and his team resumed filming as soon as they completed repairing the Mustang Mach-E 1400. Filming brought them to the village of Funningur on the north of the Eysturoy region. The location is home to an epic drifting location and the world’s deepest donuts, per Vaughn. The barrier crash apparently cost Vaughn and his crew two extra days on the Faroe Island.
