In an apocalyptic or dystopian world, vehicles are usually seen as mean and menacing. Whether it's in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 or Mad Max, WhistlinDiesel's latest eccentric stunt is a possible shoe-in. Fitting continuous tracks on a side by side to travel on an icy lake, would make decently interesting interesting video content, but no longer content with that kind of small ball, WhistlinDiesel opted instead, to install reaper wheels on a Polaris RZR. If you're wondering if everything went well, WhistlinDiesel's YouTube video can tell the whole story.

Reaper Wheels On A Polaris Side By Side

While the video begins with WhistlinDiesel (known at least to his parents as Cody Detwiler) falling from the ceiling several times, that shouldn't be regarded as a forecast of bad things to come. That is because bad things happens in every video Cody publishes on YouTube. Moreover, an RZR side by side and a set of four metal reaper wheels – yes with dozens of real sharp spikes – won't translate to merely wholesome fun.

This isn't the first time that Cody fitted reaper wheels on vehicles. In August 2019, he installed reaper wheels on a Honda Fourtrax four-wheeler and tore down the field like a lawnmower. In February 2020, Cody fitted reaper wheels on a lifted Ford F-350. It was doing a good job tilling frozen dirt until it got stuck on mud and had to be pulled to safety.

Crushing Lake Ice Until The Metal Gave In

Since previous videos with reaper wheels earned million of views, re-imagining those scenarios on a different vehicle on different terrain undoubtedly sounded like a good idea, especially for an eccentric YouTuber like Cody. After installing the reaper wheels on an RZR, Cody went to a lake in Minnesota and started grinding the ice.

Cody was certainly having some good time on the lake. An RZR can have something of a menacing appearance on its own.  It is also a relatively small vehicle, so the addition of four relatively oversized reaper wheels makes the thing look like most terrifying prop in some sci-fi horror flick.

Counterintuitively, it turned out that ice was harder than metal in this case, and Cody's RZR broke down. The reaper wheels wouldn't spin around much less grind some ice. This forced Cody to switch back to normal wheels and tires. That's the end of the adventure for the RZR Reaper!

Cody's ice-crushing adventure caught the attention of several people on the lake, including that of an officer from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Cody's lake joy ride earned him a citation for  "Careless Operation". He never thought grinding some ice could be illegal, but then again "Careless Operation" could pretty much be Cody's brand tagline, so it's nice to have it certified.
