Chevy Corvettes are pretty cool cars, so cool, that usually if they reach an auction, they go fast. The same thing happened to this AeroBody Corvette, which first went on BaT in August 2018, and sold for $49,000.

The good thing for all fans is that now it’s back on BaT, and will be under the hammer for another 6 days. Here’s the DL…

When it first sold, the car had clocked 17,000 miles. According to its history, this 1991 Chevy Corvette convertible went to Callaway engineering for a $31,000 twin-turbo conversion as well as a $17,000 AeroBody treatment. The car is a gleaming yellow with black interiors for added oomph and is one of the 59 C4 Callaway Twin Turbos. To add to its appeal, it’s one of 25 ‘Vettes that got the AeroBody, and the only one that comes in its distinctive shade of yellow.

The twin-turbo 5.7-liter V8 comes rated at 400+horses, mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It also has Callaway’s special Z5G performance package with free-flow mufflers, a power-steering cooler, and beefier front brakes among other things.

The AeroBody conversion means this Vette has a different nose, front grille, hood scoops, and rear bumper. Even the fender and the quarter-panel vents, along with the tail panel are rounder and look different enough to catch your eye. The retractable headlamps, tinted glass, and oval exhaust tips add more to the look of this modified ‘Vette.

The Bid Is Climbing, and Closing

There are another six days left to bid on this beauty, and till now, the top bid has reached $36,000, which is a mere pittance for a ‘Vette this cool.

As a Chevrolet Corvette convertible, it has a removable hardtop, and also comes with an air-con, a Delco/Bose stereo, and selective ride and handling suspension. It rides on 17-inch Dymag wheels and also has automatic climate control, power windows, and other such amenities.

In the three years since its sales, the owner added only a mile to its running and the odometer now reads 18,000 miles. The owner is offering the car with the manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report as well as a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

Frankly, this is exactly the kind of Vette many often dream about. While it looks like a Corvette, it’s an AeroBody and the engine has a twin-turbo secret that can help you take on later generations of the Corvettes, in any kind of race.
