Every man, woman, and child can see it. Most polite people instantly look away from you, so as to not cause you further embarrassment. Then there are the others, the ones who defiantly stare, those who scoff at you and encourage the general populace to do the same. Some even brazenly crack a smile at you, some are envious. The stares, the snickering, and all the finger pointing would splinter lesser souls into little more than kindling. You don’t care. You continue down the road, smiling as drive your Hello Kitty wrapped car to work.

Although there are no Hello Kitty wrapped cars in this article (seriously), we are going to provide a lot of info about Itasha cars/Anime, or translated from Japanese, “Pain-Car.” Basically put, it means “eye-sore.” The name alone strikes many Japanese with a horrifying fear and dread. It’s like a disease with no end in sight. It’s not something you can, for example, walk around with and no one would be the wiser.

That’s probably a very true statement, but there’s only a certain type of person that will tell you it’s another word for “sick”, as in cool. It helps to explain where a true anime fan is coming from and what they want others around them to see. From the understated to the overly flashy, we are bringing you 25 sick anime wraps for your viewing pleasure. You might know what’s cool, but do you know what’s sick? We do.

24 Toradara’s Taiga Aisaka Edition - For The Bug-Eyed Anime Lovers

via fearfox9000.devianart.com

The guys over at anime-planet say that the anime character Taiga Aisaka is probably one of the most feared students in her school. One look at those eyes of hers could have told us that. It’s also what makes for a great anime wrap. Plenty of colors to get you and your car noticed, plus a set of really sick and slick wheels really set off any car you can imagine. Character pics on the rear quarters let the world know they can’t tell you anything about Taiga that you don’t already know. Anime wrap, set and match. Game on!

23 Ho-Kago Tea Time Van - Only In Japan

Via I0.kym.com

Based off of the popular TV series K-ON comes this sick and twisted fan themed van featuring the band called Ho-Kago Tea Time. While reading about the characters on the awesome site giantbomb.com, I learned that the band’s super shy bassist, Mio Akiyama has a massive legion of real-life fans including actor Shia LaBeouf, who gave her a rather emotional and motivational speech when he guest starred on the show. The themed van really shows off the band very well and the vanity plate is just sick as all get out. You just can’t beat a well-themed anime wrap.

22 BMW Pokemon - Darn, Where’s My Pokéball?

via sgcafe.com

For most of the people I’ve shown this pic too, I’ve learned that this BMW Pokémon inspired anime wrap generates some serious love it or leave it attitude. But really, what’s not to love about it? This BMW 8 Series was meant to be seen.

A car this powerful doesn’t have to make excuses about anything. Even if it were slung with massive amounts of mud, it would still command respect.

The driver of this monster clearly loves Pokémon something fierce. But it’s the colors of the wrap itself that complement the BMW so well that really takes your breath away.

21 Re:to Themed Subaru - If I Only Had The Money

via itasha.twitter.com

This Subaru BRZ was expertly cracked by its Re:Zero Anime wrap. It looks like this fight came out a draw. This themed wrap really integrates superbly with the powerful Subaru, while still somehow managing to appear understated. Maybe it’s the muted color of the car, but it’s not garish at all from any angle. Add a 200 hp engine via Subaru and no more than a $20,000-$25,000 price tag estimated from MotorTrend, and it makes this car an economical and stylish alternative for going full anime. The nice and road-holding Summer tires paired with those awesome blue wheels really make this theme stand out.

20 Alfa Romeo Giulia - On The Track, On The Street

via itashi.twitter.com

Even online games such as this Fate/Grand Order anime wrap can hook up your street cred. It wraps beautifully around the Italian automobile.

Producing at least 280 hp with its 2.9-liter twin turbo V6, the mighty Giulia fires down any road with an estimated 3.9-second 0-60 time, according to Car Guide.

The various purple shades of the Fate/Grand Order anime wrap really set off the pure white of the Giulia exceedingly well. So well in fact, that the Alfa looks like it could feature in the game itself. With specs like this, you can wear this anime wrap with pride.

19 Nishikino Maki Mini Cooper S - Absolute “Sickness” Going On Here

via imgur.com

With 189 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque, this Mini Cooper S knows how to get down the road. And just get a look at the pure sickness that is the Nishikino anime wrap. It fits perfectly well with the base brown Cooper S like it was created specifically for the Mini. The Nishikino character, which I learned all about at apartment507, comes from a wealthy family, she’s extremely intelligent, wants to pursue a medical degree and also sings in a band. Whew, that’s one multitasking anime. I do wish the Mini’s detailers had remembered to accent the wheels better, but it’s hard to fault this wrap job.

18 Custom Anime Hankook Porsche 911 GT300 - Proud To Be Seen

via tradingpaints.com

What more can I or need I say about a Porsche GT? Plenty. The street models of this raging beast pump out anywhere from 500-520 hp, rear wheel drive, with the slowest model in the line performing a 3.2 second 0-60 mph time, according to the Porsche website. 911 GTs are what separate men and women from the boys and girls of yesteryear. And check out the specially designed anime wrap. This one was created by Justin S Davis over at the Trading Paints website. The design and color of the custom anime Hankook wrap stand out like sick perfection against the base color of the 911.

17 “The Irregular At Magic High School” Ferrari 458 Italia - Nothing But Sick

via reddit.com

It’s not like you can just go down and order a new Ferrari 458 Italia whenever you want. It’s no longer in production says Car and Driver. But if it was, you would be the proud owner of something that’s more than a car.

It's more like a piece of liquid art capable of flowing like the whitewater rapids, 562 hp, 3.0 second 0-60 time, and “King of the hill” drool status.

As for the wrap, The Irregular At Magic High School characters come from a distant future where magic is now known to be a technology. Very interesting novels and TV shows. The wrap makes this Ferrari seem magical to me.

16 Michael Jordan - Nuff Said

via jdmstyletuning.com

Ah, nostalgia. Nothing comes close to the feeling of reliving a classic moment. Michael Jordan would certainly know something or two about the feeling. Look at this piece of rolling art. Stunning is about all I can say about this wrap. Knowing there’s nothing anyone can ever say about the 6-time NBA Chicago Bulls champion gives the owner of this insane wrapped car street credit without limit. True, Mr. Jordan is real flesh and blood, but this wrap deserves special status. You could even apply this wrap to a Ford Pinto, still receiving nothing but respect from NBA fans.

15 Yuzuki Yukari Racing Car - Too Fast To Care

via vocaloidnews.com

Over at Vocaloid News comes info about this really stunning crowd-funded Yuzuki Yukari Racing Car. It’s based off the Honda Integra DC5.

With a minimum 220 hp, referenced from the Classic and Sports Car website, this pocket-rocket is off to a flying start.

And check out that anime wrap, based on the anime Yuzuki Yukari. This anime is so popular that the vocalomakets website actually had a live stream birthday party for her in December of 2017. The anime is a virtual pop-star who sings original songs. For real. Games, music albums, as well as car wraps. You can’t go wrong using this wrap.

14 This Suzuki Swift

via jeanneabeck.deviantart.com

What a cool anime wrap. The message: “I want to tell you, Be prepared to hurt you, I was the last” is ominous enough. This wrap means business. Even if an old junker had this wrap applied, I’d avoid it. It would seem that this wrap is intended for those with a lot of road rage, but I find that hard to believe in a country like Japan. When I checked out the Akabeisoft2 webpage, I found out that the anime is really based on an adult visual novel, which is what the company produces, in addition to games, etc.

13 Nintendo Splatoon - Pure Coolness and 3D Sickness

via @davidzavaglia.twitter.com

“Absolutely sick” is how I’d describe this anime wrap. It’s based off of the popular Nintendo game, according to the Metacritic website. The game involves squid-like characters splatting ink on others in order to claim different types of zones, or turf. But it’s really the 3D effect of this wrap that makes it one of the most interesting car wraps around. You can tell a huge attention to detail went into its making. The vivid colors and essential “ink splats” on the bumper area of the car really does it for me. A great addition to just about any car! And of course, this is Nintendo we’re talking about here. It’s one of the most popular brands in the world. Now if I can just find one for Super Mario.

12 Mirai Suenaga II Toyota - Sickness A'Plenty

via dailyhumor.co.uk

This is one sick Toyota, but most Toyota coupes simply exude coolness anyway. Be it a Celica, a legacy Supra or one of the late model GT-86’s, the car company knows how to make a hot car. Mirai Millenium’s ever-popular anime character Sinon makes her second edition to our list.

This wrap has plenty of pop, complementing the Toyota’s already sleek lines.

The wrap makes it up past the rear window, giving a great sort of completion to the car, nearly a 3D effect, blending in with the Toyota’s base black paint.

11 BiBi Lilly White Van - Not Without a Prescription

via flickr.com

Yes, you are seeing correctly. Yes, your optical nerves have probably shut down from the sensory overload. This is a true “Fan Van”. Reading up on the anime group at Amino Apps, I feel this wrap depicts true love for the anime Mini-Idol group called Lily White, though the wrap is anything but. This wrap is a “full vehicle wrap,” designed to cover every square inch of the vehicle, never allowing for it to be seen again. The anime characters are another one of those virtual vocal groups who sing and sell albums as well as other merchandise. Although it’s not for me, it shows absolute dedication to a brand. Wow, just wow.

10 Moe Collection - Lord Have Mercy

via knowyourmeme.com

Coming in at a rather dizzying #7 on our list is this mind-bending car wrap. It features the anime characters from the Moe Collective, from what I can gather from their Facebook page. Luckily, the silver of the car tempers the nearly iridescent pink of the anime wrap. Everything from the anime character’s hair color to the brand name seems to be carefully thought out when it was applied to the lowered Benz. Rugby match or your local bar for a beer, I doubt if anyone would start trouble with you because with this car wrap no one would be able to read you.

9 Mitsubishi Micro Van - The Anime Alone Will Get You a Parking Spot

via stapico.ru

Size apparently doesn’t matter when it comes to anime wrapping your vehicle. The owner of this Mitsubishi probably thinks the same. This sick anime wrap pick is just that, for paying so much attention to the detail.

It would appear that the vehicle owner based the entire design of his micro-sized van on the anime wrap, instead of the other way around.

Everything from the inner seats to the anime character’s jersey, to the toys on the dash, reflect the anime design. This person is one hardcore anime fan dedicated to the Kyoto Animation characters. If you’re going to have a sick wrap, then do it right.

8 The “Riddle Joker” Suzuki Swift - Not So Swift, But Still Cool

via artbomb.twitter.com

This Suzuki Swift might not be the fastest car on Earth by What Car's estimates, but with the slick anime wrap featuring Arihara Nanami of Riddle Joker game fame, we’ll let it slide. There doesn’t seem to be a limit or protocol to what type of car gets an anime wrap. The wraps can be custom ordered and created for nearly any type of vehicle. These wraps are definitely designed for a different breed of human. Either way, you can’t deny the stylishness of it. Many people in Japan, at least the conservative ones, feel that these types of wraps are “eyesores,” hence the phrase “itasha,” but I don’t think they are going away any time soon. It's a shame the driver wrecked this car shortly after the pics were taken, according to Soranews24...

7 D.C.II - No Mary Kay Representative Should Leave Home Without This Car

via car throttle.com

Why is this car perched proudly in this next slot? Look. At. It. Retro, detailed beyond belief, PLUS who could ignore the Asakura sisters of Da Capo II anime fame? I would drive this car ANYWHERE. From the show-stopping tires to the hood mounted rear-view mirrors, this car is all that and a ton more.

According to Used Car News. this 1972 KGC Type 10 Skyline possesses a 3.0L L28 engine.

It’s also fitted with custom rear monitors and a fantastic audio system. If I were a Mary Kay representative, I would demand this car instead of a Cadillac. I want it.

6 Bugatti Veyron - What a Ton of Money Will Get You

via Flickr.com

Keys in hand, you’ve got a smile like no tomorrow as you exit the local Bugatti dealership. As you slowly fire up the beast and turn out of the lot, you think to yourself that you finally did it: you got that dream car. Veyron Baby!! Custom ordered, detailed to all heck, every option hand-built or installed to perfection.

As you stop at your first traffic light, you watch as every single human on the street checks out the Veyron. You knew you’d get some attention. Chill. Just ignore the finger pointing, the loud murmuring, and the outright laughter for now. You knew from the start that you wanted that utterly cool anime wrap. You sick yet? Check. You off them meds? Check. That’s right, you woke!

5 “Girls Real Monster” Camaro - Utter Shamelessness, Utterly Sick

via jalopnik

This is one sick car. An awesome soft-top Camaro just screams “Drive me like you’ve never driven before”, no matter what the model year.

This early to mid-nineties coupe, found on MotorTrend, could handle it too, with an optional 275 hp 5.7 stuffed into it.

Yeah, it might actually be an eye-sore to some, but it’s also an ingenious way to dress up an and show off an older vehicle. End-to-end sickness is what its all about in some parts of Japan. Just check out those tattooed tires. There’s an attention to detail to this car that simply cannot be ignored. Praise be.
