West Coast Customs (also known as WCC) is a car repair shop in California. It revolves around the customization of vehicles, which usually consists of a car being modified to improve its performance, or/and make it look more aesthetically pleasing.

Due to the rising popularity of the show, it has starred in a number of reality TV shows so far, such as Street Customs and Pimp My Ride. In 2011, Ryan Friedlinghaus knew it was about time for the shop to have a show all for itself - and he made it happen. The show was called Inside West Customs, and it was an instant hit that is successful to this day.

Just like all shows, there are questions regarding what happens behind the scenes. There are always some happenings that shows try to sweep under the rug, but people find out eventually.

Here's every question you've ever wanted answered:

This is the biggest scandal WCC has had to face. An investigation by the department of labor found that WCC paid a lot of their workers a set salary. In reality, they should have been paying them hourly, and including overtime in the package too. Friedlinghaus agreed to settle with $150,000 being paid to low-level workers.

This was the moment that changed it all for Friedlinghaus. Shaq was very pleased with his appearance on the show and floated WCC around among a bunch of celebrities who were willing to spend thousands of dollars to get work done on their cars. There is no doubt that Shaq was the key to bringing WCC to fame.

Rumors state that Friedlinghaus left Pimp My Ride due to creative differences. He felt like the format had become redundant, and abandoned ship because he wished to have more control over the clientele he would cater to. This led to the creation of Inside West Coast Customs. Hence, his fans couldn't have been happier.

The mods make a massive difference to the street value of the cars. The cars celebrities bring to the show are sometimes kept as a part of their collection, but at times, they are sold for a profit instead. Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton, and Shaquille O'Neil are just a few of those who have made thousands extra by selling their modified cars.

Ryan took a $5000 loan to start off WCC. He started it in 1994 with business partner Quinton Dodson when he was still a teenager.
