The Koenigsegg Agera RS may just be the pinnacle of a track-adept production supercar. With a blistering top speed of 284mph, it swiftly eliminates competition such as the Bugatti Veyron SS. The car has broken multiple world records and presents a stunning example of the automaker's advanced engineering.

This is one of the rarest street-legal supercars ever produced. With power easily exceeding 1100hp on traditional fuel, it was able to achieve the highest speed ever on a public road. Only a special few will have the opportunity to own the supercar, which has a starting cost of $2.5 million.

The Koenigsegg Agera RS will leave you in awe with its unbelievable performance and luxurious design, making it the ultimate track car.

The car derives its name from “Agera,” the Swedish verb meaning “to act”. The car is engineered to perform with a twin-turbo 5.0L V8 that can output 1,160hp and a maximum torque of 944lb-ft (1,280Nm). The One Megawatt Package (1MW) upgrades the horsepower to 1,360, further heightening the supercar experience. The engine is capable of operating on traditional fuel or E85 with the Engine Control Module and Flex Fuel Capacity (KECM) system.

Aerodynamic performance is enhanced via active flaps in the front and a dynamic spoiler in the rear. The chassis is strong and lightweight, made primarily from carbon fiber with aluminum honeycomb structures. According to Koenigsegg, going 155mph generates approximately 1,069lbs (485kg) of downforce. Smooth shifts are enabled through 7-speed paddle shifters equipped with Koenigsegg electronic controls. An auto-shift mode is available for driver comfort.

The Agera RS is fitted with uniquely attractive, purpose-built Aircore carbon fiber wheels. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires are wrapped around the wheels, 265/35 (19”) in the front and 345/30 (20”) in the rear. Ventilated ceramic disc brakes are mated to 6- and 4-piston Koenigsegg calipers.

Of course, in addition to performance features, the Agera RS has qualities that make it a street-legal daily driver. These include systems such as electronic stability and traction control with user-selectable modes. Airbags, power steering, sensors, and power-assisted brakes come standard on the car as well.

The Agera RS reached the highest speed ever by a production car on a public road when test driver Niklas Lilja drove it at an average speed of 277mph in 2017. The official record was complimented by a top speed of 284.55mph.

With a dry weight of just 1,295kg, the Agera has a massive power-to-weight ratio. Many have commented on the somewhat jarring nature of the car as it reaches high speeds. It’s clear that the car wasn’t designed primarily for comfort, but rather to exhibit its stunning performance qualities.

Koenigsegg only produced a mere 25 Agera RS units. All of them are custom-made to order and fulfill each customer's specifications. Various Ageras have obtained a spotlight for their fantastic designs, each with a custom touch that adds personality to the build.

Koenigsegg chronicled the first Agera RS made for use in the US  in the series “Building Agera RS #128”. This covers the meticulous details that go into the making of a custom Agera, from the chassis to the engine. Each part is built to a precise spec with purposeful craftsmanship. The monocoque chassis of the Agera RS touts a degree of torsional rigidity much higher than its Porsche counterpart, the 918 Spyder.

Koenigsegg puts a large focus on details and handcrafted design. “The one thing you won’t see anywhere at the Koenigsegg factory is a robot”, said Steven Wade, Communication and PR manager at Koenigsegg. “In fact, many Koenigsegg parts are so complex that the only tool advanced enough to create them are skilled human hands.” This allows the company to implement designs that would otherwise be neglected. “Designing our car is a very human-centric process. Building one of them is, too,” Wade commented.

All 25 custom Agera RS orders were placed within 10 months of its debut, making it the fastest-selling Koenigsegg of all time.
