Coupes and convertibles are still alive and well, much to our delight. There was a point in the last couple of years we legitimately feared there would be only a few production sports cars left. Fortunately, the offer is still broad enough, even though SUVs continue to dominate the mass market.

One of the top cars within this category is the Jaguar F-Type. Being around since 2013, when it appeared as the "spiritual successor" of the E-type, the F-Type has never stopped growing. In 2022 (and for the 2023 production year), this sports car proves to be as attractive as a modern car can get.

But how do you decide on the Jaguar F-Type among the other options, such as the Chevy Corvette, the Porsche 718 Cayman, the Toyota Supra, and more? The sports car offer may be more narrow these days, but the competition is still fierce, and all the market entrants have different things to offer.

Today, we'll highlight some of the best features of the Jaguar F-Type, which may help you decide whether this gorgeous sports car is a perfect fit for you.

Unlike other brands on the market that have been downsizing their engine options in sports cars, Jaguar decided to stick with its V8. The four- and six-cylinder engines from the past year have been rolled out, so the F-Type is now available only with the V8. The good thing is that this option is a reliable source of power that ensures pleasant and exciting drives.

The 2023 Jaguar F-Type now offers 444 or 575 horsepower through an 8-speed automatic transmission. The rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. There's also an individually controlled braking system to ensure stability in tight corners.

Generally speaking, with a nicely sized chassis, taut suspension, and responsive steering, the F-Type is quite agile and fun. We also love the Switchable Active Sports Exhaust system that lets you enjoy the beautiful engine sound at all speeds. The pops and cracks from the exhaust will leave you and people around you drooling.

The 2023 Jaguar F-Type comes in four trims: the P450 Coupe, the P450 Convertible, the R Coupe, and the R Convertible. Choosing one over the other is a challenging undertaking. All trims are equally beautiful — it only comes down to whether you want a wind-in-your-hair or the coupe experience.

The F-Type coupe makes a case for itself with gorgeous uninterrupted lines, but the convertible gives you more freedom with its nonchalant character. Both models are equally eye-catching, though, with unique and elongated headlights, the wrap-around LED tail lights, and rounded but bold lines.

Inside, the F-Type doesn't offer out-of-this-world design, but it definitely provides luxury. The mix of high-quality materials makes the cabin easy on the eye and comfortable, and the range of available features further enhances the driving experience. You can expect to see top-notch stitching, faux-suede accents, and all-black touchups in the interior (proportional to the high price).

Although you'll find the 2023 Jaguar F-Type lacking a little cabin and much cargo space, which is almost expected from its body types, the stunning styling compensates for that. In the end, you buy an SUV for the space, and a sports car for the thrill, or at least that's what we've been taught.

Despite the somewhat limited interior space, the 2023 Jaguar F-Type is very comfortable. The front performance seats adjust in 12 ways and can heat up or cool down if needed. The premium cabin lighting also adds to the interior experience.

The thing to love about the F-Type in terms of tech is the accessibility. With a Touch Pro infotainment system, this car easily connects to the world. There are also a 10-inch touchscreen and intuitive buttons and knobs to provide a seamless experience.

The F-Type touchscreen display gives you insight into driving information and navigation with a full 3D map as well as entertainment options, such as music apps, podcasts, and radio stations. Some other smart options in this car are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, remote access through the Jaguar Remote App, and the Stolen Vehicle Locator.

Of course, the 2023 Jaguar F-Pace also comes equipped with lots of safety features. The driver-assistance technology contains everything you may expect from a modern vehicle, including standard-forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring.

All in all, the Jaguar F-Pace is a stunning car with a good engine, excellent driving capabilities, and an advanced tech interior. Skipping on it when making a list of sports cars to buy in 2022 would be a huge oversight.
