Is this the pivotal moment for the Ford Mustang Mach-E? It could very well be. When a genuine gearhead gets behind the wheel of an electric vehicle with a name influenced by a legend and declares it's like “a gas vehicle,” you are now left with a vital question: “Why have I ignored EVs up to this point?”

The passionate car enthusiast believes that someone with no experience with electric cars and propulsion systems wouldn't know that the Mustang Mach-E is fully electric. Its actions are natural and don't feel like a radical deviation from most drivers' expectations.

There Are No Negatives With The Mach-E

According to Jay Leno, “there are no negatives” when you own the Mustang Mach-E, let alone the GT Performance Edition. He's amazed by how far technology has advanced and emphasizes that maintenance will no longer be a problem. There are fewer components that need replacement or repair. Electric vehicles are turning the owner experience into a cost-effective possibility. Furthermore, even the most minor things, such as the lack of door handles, are a good fit for its concept.

Leno, as a driver, is happy by its true EV character. He is content with the absence of the imitative sound, but then realizes that it is active when he floors the gas pedal. His smile fades, but not for long. Dave Pericak, Ford's man, says this feature could make the car seem more powerful. The background noise is the intensified whining from the electric motors. The 430 hp and 634 lb-ft of torque assure Jay Leno is on the happier side since the man discovers that this is sufficient to make you feel pleased. However, the EPA range of about 270 miles may not be as uplifting.

The Ford Mustang is reborn into a different form factor, in line with the advances needed across the globe. Alternative fuels are what we need. It is essential to end global warming, and electricity will play a significant role in the coming years.

We agree with Jay Leno's opinion about the new model of the Mustang. It's now a distinct brand, and you can see these cars getting bought through dedicated showrooms. They're an excellent alternative to internal combustion motors; however, they're not Tesla at the moment. And, we should not forget, some people might want that.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition is merely a glimpse into what's coming from the Michigan-based automaker. At the moment, it's been a success. It's already surpassing the sales of the original gasoline Mustang.

Prospects are bright, and that's exactly what Jay Leno thinks, too.
