The Specification Advantages Of The Cars

The Grand Cherokee Trailhawk model features an old-school 5.7-liter Hemi-V8 engine, which makes 375 horsepower. In comparison, the Land Rover Defender features a more modern engine with a 3-liter inline turbocharged engine, which makes around 400 horsepower. Although the Defender has almost half the displacement of its younger siblings, it can still beat the Cherokee when it comes to power and therefore, uphill elevation.

Jeep kits out their Grand Cherokees with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Land Rover, on the other hand, offers a lower gear transmission in the Defender, which gives the Cherokee the advantage as more gears allow vehicles to maintain better grip and control in snowy conditions.

Both models feature a terrain adjustment button. This enables the cars to adjust the suspension, control, and more depending on what terrain they need to deal with. Hence, both teams design the rides to deal with snowy conditions.

The Land Rover Defender features an off-road tire package, with 20-inch wheels that are ideal for snow, which gives the ride another advantage. Yet, the channel TFLofforad shares its negative experiences with this package and the Grand Cherokee features 18-inch wheels that have a bigger profile and become very useful in the snow. Hence, they become rivals once again.

However, one is bound to win the competition when it comes to which SUV is better in the snow. According to TFLoffroad, the first place has to go to the Jeep Grand Cherokee in the snow mode. The SUVs were set to a fair test and both got to show off their snow modes and suspension capabilities.

In summary, the Land Rover Defender is more premium inside and out, as well as being more expensive. The model retails for $69,000 and the Grand Cherokee retails for considerably less at $53,000. Nonetheless, the lower price, old-school engine, and all-around capabilities on tough terrains, such as the snow, manage to win the Grand Cherokee the top spot. Both rides are incredibly impressive yet the Jeep Grand Cherokee does just manage to take the reign.
