Genesis is a brand we are eagerly anticipating news from. They set pulses racing in 2018 with the reveal of the Essentia concept and people have been hankering for a production version ever since. And their cars and concepts as a whole always get people talking. The luxury division of Hyundai has now dropped a teaser trailer onto their YouTube channel, with the grammatically odd description: “Our another EV concept is just around the corner” before saying a reveal for this car is coming very soon, on March 31st. What is shown off then? Is it the Essentia, or something else entirely?

Cards Kept Close To Their Chest

As you can probably imagine, Genesis has kept their cards very close to their chest. The trailer itself runs for about 30 seconds but only about half of that shows us what might be on the way. The first major shot is a close-up of the front of the new car, showing the Genesis badge and the grille. It is quite a different looking front end to that of the Essentia. The hood of the car is very long and the familiar and unusual bisected design is evident, so whatever it is, it certainly gets our eyebrows raised.

Interior Shot Shows A Very Cool Gear Dial

A couple of shots of the interior of the car are also shown. The highlight here is the very cool gear selector dial, which is more of a ball that spins around to reveal the selector for the drive mode. A very cool feature indeed. The car, whatever it is, is then shown driving and we get another shot of the front before it vanishes into the distance and the trailer transitions to the company’s name and logo. What can we deduce from it then?

We Don't Have Long To Find Out What Is Being Teased

via YouTube

In all honesty, not much. But it wouldn’t be a teaser if everything was revealed. That the teaser references a "concept" suggests this could be something completely new. People in the comments section of the trailer were certainly left second-guessing what it could be, but in reality, we won’t have any idea until the full car is revealed a few days from now, which we will surely cover.
