Being a non-driving concept car that recently appeared at the 2019 Los Angeles Car Show, held between November 22nd and December 1st, The Karma SC2 offers a fascinating glimpse into what the future holds as far, as the automobile industry is concerned.

Karma Automotive says it may license the technology it develops in this platform to other firms who would have a use for it in more practical cars. While it is doubtful the SC2 would ever become a road-legal model available to the public for sale, it isn't out of the question either.

10 The Revero

Karma does have 1 model currently for sale called the Revero which nobody thought would survive any length of time as it was originally sold as a brand called Fisker, which was a brand created by the industrial design magnate and engineer Henrik Fisker, who is mostly known for developing scissors and tools that bare his namesake.

Depending on who tells the tale, Fisker Automotive spun-off Karma Automotive sometime around 2015. Karma Automotive is currently owned by the Chinese Automotive Parts Manufacturer Wanxiang Group.

9 A continuation of The SC1 open coupe

Basically the concept car is a continuation of The SC1 open coupe, but with a proper roof. Among the claimed features is a power-train capable of generating approximately 1,100 horsepower and 0-60 acceleration times of less than 2 seconds. Karma claims to be working on a 120 k.w. hour battery pack that will allow the car to travel up to 350 miles on a single charge during normal usage.

The car would have power available to all 4 wheels and use computer-controlled torque splitting to manipulate power to the wheels that can use it the most while operating.

8 Pushrod suspension

A so-called pushrod suspension having a cantilever design that would move the weight of the springs and dampeners inboard of the frame and unibody allowing faster suspension response due to lower inertia would also be a part of the package.

Not to be outdone by the suspension, the brakes, of course, would have carbon-ceramic full-floating rotors and opposed piston calipers.

7 Unique doors and features

Among its sleek shape and metallic silver paint on the concept piece presented in L.A., several writers noted the unique doors which opened and closed straight up and down in a slicing motion, similar to 1 half of a pair of scissors.

As you would imagine, the concept car has every electronic feature that is known to be used in a car currently, including multiple cameras, lidar (distance) sensors, long-range radar sensors, heads-up displays, as well as its showcase design feature known as a "playback mode" which allows the computer, controls, and displays to simulate prior actual driving experiences while the car is stationary.

6 Unconventional steering wheel

Included in the styling cues are sharply angled headrests on the seats and a semi-squared steering wheel.

So far, both the digital-rendering and the concept car shown to the public have presented a beige, silver and black interior.

5 Fine finish

Charcoal-colored alloy wheels with conventional low-profile tires compliment the brake rotors and calipers which show the typical fine finish you would expect from a car like this. Also noteworthy is the winglet syle sensor/camera arrays that are mounted to the side doors where rearview mirrors would be on a conventional car.

What is also unusual is the way in which the lights of the car are not profound from the body, but are blended into the seams both before and after, allowing for smooth contours.

4 Short Deck style

The body itself is the popular long nose, short deck style that has been popular with performance cars since the E-Type Jaguar, if not before that. The multiple hinges in the side doors swing out and up, allowing the scissor action look, while at the same time moving away from the body so as to allow a proper fit.

According to factory literature, the driver is supposed to mount his/her cell-phone where the typical center rearview mirror mounts to allow "playback mode" from previous drives.

3 An artistic flair

Fine detail touches for the prototype include a simulated marbling and chevron-style monikers among the badging throughout the interior. The inside wells, where the doors open away from the front fenders, have interior color beige pods matching the seats and steering wheel for a more finished look.

Interestingly, the semi-gloss black roof has an overhang above the side windows as well as above the rear window. It kind of gives it an artistic flair but with a "squished" look. Housed inside of the squished roof is a headliner said to have fiber-optic inlays to augment the seating which is also supposed to have biometric inlays for customization to the occupant and driver. A unique styling cue around the parameter of the seats is a continuous band of stitching, matching a smaller version of the same style stitching on the inside of the steering wheel.

2 Stylish scoops

The frontal area, of course, has no grill but has stylish scoops along the sides, that may aid in brake cooling, but is more to make the car appear aggressive and sporty. The rear lower area has scoops and channels matching the front scoops, and reminiscent of a Japanese Drift Car.

The bonnet area has a simple moniker in the front center and some side scooping where the fenders meet the hood. The lower valiance has a forward sweeping air dam, painted to match the semi-gloss trim on the roof and elsewhere.

1 Biometric entry locks

Unconfirmed sources list the car as having biometric entry locks from the outside including fingerprint and facial recognition. Some of the above features will appear on the cars that Karma will surely produce such as the soon to be released 2020 Revero GT.

Also noteworthy, some sources say that Karma is working with a revived Fisker Automotive, as well as Pininfarina to offer other models/marques, and since Karma openly admits it wants to sell technology through open-source platforms you may very well see the above features on many electric-cars, which is Karma's target niche.
