If you're a fan of Ken Block and his gymkhana series, the Ford Focus RSRX is by all means an icon for you. After all, the Focus RSRX is Block's co-star in the "Gymkhana NINE: Raw Industrial Playground" video that has been viewed 45 million times so far. Now, this 2016 Ford Focus RSRX is looking for a new owner at Barrett-Jackson's auction scheduled on October 22, 2020.
600 HP Of Rallycross Output
Featuring a body designed by Ford Performance and M-Sport, U.K., the Ford Focus RSRX was engineered and tuned to compete in the FIA World Rallycross Championship. It is highly powered compared to the now discontinued Focus RS, as made possible by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine designed by M-Sport and Ford Performance. This mill is boosted by a Garrett turbocharger to 600 hp of max output.
Complementing its powerful engine are components from Sadev, including a five-speed sequential transmission, a rear differential and a center differential release unit. Should a crash occur, the driver remains well protected thanks to an FIA-homologated roll cage designed by M-Sport.
Not Road Legal
Inside this iconic Ford Focus RSRX, the driver gets to hold a multi-function steering wheel from M-Sport, while both occupants are accommodated on seats sourced from RECARO. Moreover, the Focus RSRX comes with Cosworth engine management and data logging.
This Ford Focus RSRX rides on O.Z. 17"x8" wheels shod with FIA homologated rallycross rubbers. It features a seam-welded and reinforced chassis that boasts Reiger suspension. As a rally car, the Focus RSRX was often subjected to harsh ground conditions, which is why it's shielded by an underbody protection. It isn't road legal, though.
100% Hammer Price To Be Donated
Interestingly, 100 percent of the hammer price of this Ford Focus RSRX will be donated to Team Rubicon. This team endeavors to provide relief to people affected by disaster regardless of their location. The team includes military veterans, first responders, medical professionals, as well as technology solutions. Sold on bill of sale only, the Focus RSRX will be put under the hammer at 3:00 p.m. on October 22, 2020.
