Kevin Bacon is an all-time American icon. When he’s not in Hollywood making movies, he’s jamming with his band, The Bacon Brothers. In this episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, he gets a chance to drive the new 2021 Ford Bronco.

“I can’t think of a better way to start a show about versatility, than by introducing one of the most versatile guys working in Hollywood, to one of the most highly anticipated SUV releases of all time,” Leno said.

Kevin Bacon has quite the resume, he’s been in the hit movie Footloose, and also stars in the TV show City On The Hill. He also has a band, The Bacon Brothers.

The 2021 Ford Bronco Comes With a 2.7-Liter V6 And 10-Speed Automatic Transmission

“Do you know what this is? Uh, this is the new bronco. You are gonna be the first person to drive it,” Leno said. “Oh my God!” Bacon responded.

The new Ford Bronco is quite the spectacle. It emulates its original with an old-school design and an off-road pedigree of its mid-1960s predecessor. According to Leno, the 2021 Ford Bronco comes with a 2.7-liter V6 engine mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The combo produces 250 hp.

A noteworthy mention is the Sasquatch package that includes 35-inch mud-terrain tires, shorter final drive ratio, electronic locking front, and rear differential, Beadlock-capable wheels, position-sensitive Bilstein shocks, and a sway-bar-disconnect feature. The 2021 Ford Bronco retails at $59,550.

“That’s a pretty sweet color too, I like that,” Bacon said. “It is a nice color,” Leno responded.

Bacon owns an early Bronco, which he bought during the onset of the global pandemic. It’s a 1969 Ford Bronco with no ceiling, no doors, zero windows, and comes with a three-on-a-tree manual shift.

“But the difference between that and this. That is so pedestrian for a lack of a better word. This is a step up, my friend. You’ve got disc brakes, you’ve got every conceivable option, I mean it’s good. And you are going to be the actual first person to drive it,” Leno revealed.

The 2021 Ford Bronco Has Much Better Suspension And Rides Smoother

Leno and Bacon prepare and get into their cars, Leno with a 2021 Ford Tremor and Bacon in the 2021 Ford Bronco.

While the 2021 Ford Bronco has quite the off-road spec sheet, the Ford Tremor isn’t shabby either. It comes with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine making 240 hp. The Ford Tremor can tow up to 7,500 pounds.

“So, Kev, tell me the impression, the biggest change from your Bronco,” Leno asked.

“I mean, uh, suspension wise it’s so much smoother. This car, it handles great!” Bacon answered.
