Hollywood star and comedian Kevin Hart was involved in a devastating car crash on September 1, 2019 when his car went off the road and flipped over an embankment on Mulholland Drive before coming to a rest in a ditch in Malibu, California. Hart's producer, Jared Black, was driving with Black's girlfriend and Hart as passengers. Hart was critically injured in the crash with extensive back injuries and a long road to recovery and rehabilitation before him. Thankfully, there's good news on his ongoing progress.

The Car, The Crash

Kevin Hart has an extensive car collection and in honor of his 40th birthday gifted himself a Hellcat-powered 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. He was very proud of the new ride and promised it brought "extra muscle to the family." Hart, being the gentleman he is, let his producer Jared Black take the wheel and unfortunately it was more power than he could handle leading to the tragic results.

But there is good news to report. Hart claims he's approximately 65% to 75% recovered from the accident and doing fine with rehabilitation, light weightlifting, and core strengthening exercises. The crash has also led to some necessary soul searching and given him the time necessary to reconnect with family. He observed that he's never been home with his wife and three children for more than 8-10 days in a row. He's been home a solid three months now and counting. He now appreciates his manifold blessings and looks forward to a full recovery.

What's Ahead

He recently appeared at the movie opening for Jumanji and said he's happy to just be able to put his own socks on again. While he still looks like the Kevin Hart we all know and love his face shows signs of fatigue. Hopefully, he'll be back to 100% in no time. Buckle up.
