Actor and comedian Kevin Hart is a massive car fan. Just look at the incredible 1970 Dodge Charger that he bought earlier in 2021. That is one epic ride. But Hart clearly wants more, so at a recent Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, he decided he wanted something even more vintage. He has acquired a 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. Not just any Corvette, though. This is a custom example that he has bought for the record price of $825,000.

One Of The Most Desirable Custom Corvettes Of Recent Years

This is probably one of the best Corvette customs ever created, and it looks like Hart had fun at the auction! Under the hood of this classic body is a virtually brand new, 2020 Corvette LT1 6.2 liter V8 engine from a C8 Corvette. That sees the 1959 body pump out 460 hp, and it's been paired with an automatic 4L75E transmission.

The finish on the car is absolutely stunning, being an all-original affair that was stripped right back to the glass beads. It was then finished in PPG Franny Green and Global High Solids clear, with a black ceramic coating applied to the underside of the car. And the fit among all the body panels is virtually perfect.

Amazing Interior Even Features A Restomod Stereo

Inside it is equally as awesome. There is a brand new stereo although you might not realize that when you first look at it. Because it has been done to resemble the original 1959 Wonder Bar model that would have come with the Corvette, although it wouldn’t have had Bluetooth as it does now! There’s even an amplifier and subwoofer plus Focal speakers. Plus, there are some sweet digital gauges and LED lighting through the car.

Wilwood Brakes Provide Plenty Of Stopping Power

There are further modern enhancements as we dive deeper into the build of this Corvette. It has Wilwood brakes with C7 6-inch piston front calipers that also have 14-inch rotors and stainless steel brake lines. The wheels themselves are one-off EVODs that have been done to look like a modern original style, with knockoff center nuts. When it comes to the mileage on this car, it has only got 150 miles on the clock since the build was complete and is effectively brand new. This was an incredibly high-priced car but one hell of a machine, serving as the perfect edition to Harts's collection.
