Kia is perhaps one of the coolest car companies in the world, so it is no surprise to see it back the electric trend. The new electric car that is set to launch next year will be a global model, and as mentioned previously it will be the brand's first dedicated BEV. The company plans for the new car to offer the same competitive product quality and bear, as they put it, “eye-catching design” that all their other vehicles have so far offered. Kia also wants to work with worldwide networks in order to expand EV charging infrastructures to allow people to charge their cars easier and in less time. This announcement comes not long after it’s first next-gen dedicated electric vehicle was spotted in spy shots, which is the car set to launch in 2021.

Kia CEO Ho Sung Song said: “Kia has sold more than 100,000 BEVs worldwide since the introduction of our first mass-produced BEV in 2011, the Kia Ray EV. Since then, we have started to introduce a range of new BEVs for global markets and announced plans to accelerate this process in the years ahead. By refocusing our business on electrification, we are aiming for BEVs to account for 25 percent of our total worldwide sales by 2029.”

Kia is calling its mid-to-long-term plan, “Plan S.” This is the company's plan to move towards an electric future with the business slowly shifting its focus to BEVs and various mobility solutions. The company has certainly repaired its reputation, and its cars get more popular each year. The CV that is to launch in 2021 is the first car to benefit from this long term-term plan. The teaser images released today show what appear to be three crossover models and a compact car, with no fewer than 11 electric cars from Kia hopefully on sale by 2025.
