There are a lot of really good YouTube channels that cover cars. From insane car builds to reviews, there is a video for nearly everybody to enjoy. Yet with the sheer number of videos all vying for viewers a lot of rubbish clickbait is produced.

Bad thumbnails with unnecessary arrows and text, plus downright ridiculous video titles may make for visually interesting content. However, watching one of the actual videos will leave a bad taste in the viewer's mouth along with an immense feeling of disappointment.

10 Carfection (Should watch)

A major part of the appeal of this channel is the amazing production quality that could rival most television shows. Add in an awesome blend of cutting-edge performance cars and immaculate classic cars and Cafection is well worth watching.

Hosted by esteemed automotive journalists Henry Catchpole and Alex Goy, both offer detailed and witty reviews of cars from the perspective of an enthusiast. From a restomod Porsche 911 to the latest VW Golf GTI, the insight offered here is invaluable to any gearhead.

9 SeenThroughGlass (Nothing But Clickbait)

There just is not anything of note produced on this channel. The production quality is one of the best for a car YouTube channel but the content really falls flat. Each video is both forgettable and boring.

The channel features some seriously awesome cars that are capable of tremendous speed. Yet the focus never fully seems to be on these cars, more about the person behind the wheel. Whilst this isn't always a bad thing, the lack of charisma is clear here.

8 Doug Demuro (Should watch)

The best way to describe Doug Demuro is a massive car nerd. Most videos follow the formula of looking around an interesting car and talking at length about what makes it so interesting. The best part of the channel is the clear enthusiasm that radiates throughout each video.

Doug Demuro has created a niche channel that is well worth a watch. He appeals to the trivia hungry gearheads who like obscure facts and odd quirks about interesting cars. Each video is teeming with facts and Doug is a brilliant host to watch.

7 TJ Hunt (Nothing But Clickbait)

There is a lot of controversy that follows this YouTuber. From bitter rivalries with other content creators to accusations of video manipulation in his videos, there is a lot of issues with him. Clickbait seems to be the foundation of this channel, with the majority of the videos failing to live up to the attached titles.

TJ Hunt offers very little in the way of quality entertainment. There are a couple of good videos available, but they are buried beneath a mountain of awful content. Most videos are just a tired formula of supercars and bad wraps. Not for a good channel for a true gearhead.

6 Tavarish (Should Watch)

Tavarish produces a lot of good content. Usually involving some suspiciously cheap sports car, his videos are funny as well as informative. Just ignore the clickbait looking video thumbnail images.

The Car Trek series in particular takes the cheap car challenges of other outlets and perfects them. The recent test of old supercars including an Aston Martin Vanquish, Mercedes CL600 and Maserati Coupe is a refreshing and humorous series that is a lot of fun to watch.

5 Vehicle Virgins (Nothing But Clickbait)

A quick scroll through this channel will show that this channel is a clickbait farm. With unprecedented access to some of the best supercar on the planet, this channel offers nothing more than unfunny skits and very little to excite a gearhead.

This channel is more like a bad comedy channel that happens to feature cars. There are some acceptable videos hidden within the channel but these are drowned out by the sheer about of clickbait rubbish.

4 The Late Brake Show With Jonny Smith (Should Watch)

Jonny Smith is something of a legend within the UK. Owner of both the fastest street-legal drag car and an immaculate Honda S600 coupe Smith produces a variety of videos on YouTube. Blending humor with genuine technical knowhow, The Late Brake Show is well worth a watch.

The most recent videos include a fascinating chat with legendary car designer Ian Callum, a replica Ferrari 250 GTO, and a drive in an electric Land Rover Defender. Add into this an ongoing build of a sleeper Austin Allegro and it becomes clear this channel is well worth a watch.

3 Scotty Kilmer (Nothing But Clickbait)

Scotty Kilmer is an old school mechanic who produces a lot of videos detailing how to fix common issues with cars. Problem is, most of these videos showcase antiquated techniques and are not only largely useless on modern cars, but in some cases can make things worse.

Another big issue with Kilmer is that he passes his experiences and opinions as objective facts. Add into that an unhealthy hatred for anything German and adoration for the Toyota Celica, and the end product is a channel that has little worth.

2 Jay Leno's Garage (Should Watch)

Every gearhead knows about Jay Leno's garage. From vintage steam-powered cars through pre-war Bugattis to a McLaren F1. Jay Leno has over 150 cars and there really is something for everyone to enjoy. The best part is, he creates weekly videos of these cars for YouTube.

The videos in general are split into two sections, discussions and driving. The first part explores the history and details of the car. Part of the appeal here is the deep knowledge Leno clearly demonstrates for each car that he covers. From examining the fascinating stories behind each car through to his own maintenance comments, Leno is able to make even the humblest of cars sound interesting. Add to this the driving aspects of these videos, where Leno offers great analysis and this channel is well worth a subscription to.

1 Shmee150 (Nothing But Clickbait)

Tim Burton (AKA Shmee150) does live an impressive life anyone would want to share with the world. The collection of supercars he owns is enviable, with a McLaren Senna and Ford GT just being part of what he owns. He also likes to show these off on YouTube. The problem is that the videos are not worth watching.

Part of what makes his video clickbait is the underwhelming production. Shaky cameras, poor lighting, and dreadful wardrobe choices (seriously he was listed as one of the worlds worst dressed men), Shmee150 fails to make anything remotely well produced. The biggest sin that Shmee150 commits is his inability to criticize the cars he owns. He has no credibility as a car fan in only praising and should be avoided by all serious gearheads.
