Unless folks are absolutely filthy stinking rich to the point where it doesn't matter how many supercars they trash, chances are that any person who owns, say, a Lamborghini Huracan Evo isn't about to take that possession for granted. They'll coddle the thing, get it serviced regularly, and make sure it has a super spotless place in the garage. And why not? As far as Lambos go, this model is likely to go for a little more than $200,000. Granted, it's on the lower end of the upper-crust car spectrum, but hardly chump change. So you can understand why Brit racer Archie Hamilton is understandably a tad stressed when in a video released Sunday he let his girlfriend Chloe get behind the wheel of his Evo.

Basic Run-through Includes Brief Talk On Gear Paddles

This is the same vehicle that ranks among auto aficionados as high as a Ferrari F8 Tributo and can give a Porsche Taycan Turbo S a run for its money on a quarter-mile drag strip. But when your better half is strapped in behind the wheel, how that will turn out is subject to a lot of anxious speculation.

Chloe, on the other hand, is super-confident she can handle it, after being given a basic run-through of the interior's controls. He tells her to ignore most of the saddle-mounted controls and instructs her of minimal use of the paddle shifts. They opt first for a short road that takes them to a cul de sac at a nearby golf course.

At times, Chloe's tempted to slam on the brakes, a no-no in Hamilton's book, since those pads are pretty sensitive and made from carbon. It doesn't take long for her to wrap her head around the lift function that this Lambo uses on the likes of rough edges on the road and speed bumps.

On the road, when he tells Chloe to switch the driving mode to Sport, there's no hesitation. The Huracan goes faster, and while he has to coach her through the paddle shift sequence, she handles it well. At one point she guns it, which startles her a bit but one nervous giggle later, Hamilton's girlfriend is able to keep this Lambo under control.

Lambo Not So Easy On Neophytes

Hamilton's assessment on Chloe's ability to handle his Lambo? "you did well, you actually did do very, very well," he said. "To be fair it's not that easy to jump into a car like this and get used to it very quickly."

He suggests taking her to a track next time to get her better versed on the Evo, a prospect she finds exciting. But the question is whether Hamilton's nervous system will be ready for that next stage.
