Lamborghini just released a new teaser video of their upcoming Aventador Superveloce Jota which touts a world-leading power-to-weight ratio.

You know when cars are rolled out wearing the same camouflage as fighter jets that it’s time to get excited. The latest Lambo to come out of the Sant'Agata Bolognese is no longer trying to hide its shape, and is instead merely trying to conceal itself from aerial view by wearing a paint scheme more reminiscent of an attack aircraft on a sortie in the Middle East.

We’re not entirely sure that Lamborghini’s military-inspired camo will do much to prevent it from drawing attention, however.

The latest teaser video touts the Aventador SVJ’s power to weight ratio more than anything else, saying it will have “best weight to power!” There’s a lot of cars with great power-to-weight ratios, but since Lambo didn’t give us any figures to do some math with, we’ll just have to be patient to see if this statement is mere hyperbole or if the Italian supercar maker really did make something astonishing.

If we set the bar at the SVJ’s predecessor, that being the Aventador SV, then power-to-weight will have to exceed 4.48 lbs per hp. To put that into perspective, the McLaren Senna has a power to weight of 3.35 lbs per hp.

We haven’t heard any rumors from Lamborghini about the Aventador achieving Senna levels of lightness, so in order to achieve that “best weight to power” we’re expecting the SVJ to be both lighter and more powerful than the SV. That means lighter than the SV’s 3,362 lbs and more powerful than 690 hp.

The most powerful Aventador ever made, the Aventador Centenario, had 759 ponies at its disposal, so you can expect the SVJ to have something in that ballpark. With that as a starting point, the only question remaining is how much lighter will the SVJ actually be than every other Aventador before it?

Lamborghini is rumored to have also snagged back the fastest production car record around the Nurburgring thanks to the SVJ. Once again, we’ll have to wait and see, but at least it looks like our waiting might soon be over.
