Lamborghini makes some of the fastest, most valuable, and most unique cars the world has ever seen. One of the most legendary and iconic may be the Centenario which holds special meaning and that is shown with the car itself in its styling and its incredible performance.

It's a true show of what Lamborghini can create and is a true engineering masterpiece in a long lineup of historically great cars. Its exclusivity adds to the status of the Centenario, making it that much more sought after. Below are some things we love about the Lamborghini Centenario and what makes it such an awesome car.

10 The Engine

First and foremost, we need to discuss the huge engine that has been included in this very special Lamborghini. Typically, it's nothing small and is one of the brand's finest.

The Italian-made supercar has been paired with a tuned version of the Aventador's 6.5-liter V12 and is capable of producing 759 hp, a 20 horsepower increase over the Aventador.

9 Speed And Performance

The Centenario's engine, as well as the weight reduction, help it achieve outrageous speeds and make it one of the top performers, not only for a Lamborghini, but for any supercar.

The Centenario accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, with an overall top speed of 217 mph. Due to its unique design, the Centenario manages an impressive power to weight ratio of 4.80 lb per hp.

8 Exterior Styling

The styling of the Centenario is typical of Lamborghini and will turn heads for sure. The body is comprised almost completely of carbon fiber, with a similar carbon fiber monocoque found on the Aventador.

Despite being based on the Aventador, the Centenario manages to be around 11 lbs lighter than its parent vehicle. Visually, the car is stunning and the exposed carbon-fiber bodywork looks incredible and suits the car perfectly, showing that it isn't just a regular Lamborghini. Vents and sharp edges are plentiful, as expected, and the thin taillights and headlights give the Centenario an aggressive look that's difficult to match.

7 Interior

The Lamborghini has an interior that's perhaps more comparable to a spaceship than a supercar, with racing seats, race-styled steering wheel with carbon fiber and yellow accent stitching to top it off.

The center console and dashboard are wrapped with carbon. The seats and wheel are made with high-quality Alcántara and leather. There are two seats for the interior of the Centenario, luckily Lamborghini didn't decide to save weight here, meaning a friend can come along too. Generally, the interior is a perfect blend of sport and style with just enough comfort to make it reasonably easy to live with should you have the money.

6 The Exclusivity

It's not just money you'll need to obtain the Lamborghini Centenario. After all, this isn't your typical supercar, and its exclusivity rivals the best.

Given the special nature of the car, Lamborghini decided to commission the production of only 40 cars, meaning you'll have to be lucky enough to get in there first, and that's not even including the $1.9M you'll have to cough up as the asking price.

5 Rear-Wheel-Steering

One of the more innovative additions to the Centenario is its use of real-wheel steering. This inclusion makes it the first Lamborghini to ever use this kind of system.

This unique change is implemented to help with stability at low speeds, providing some added maneuverability when driving in condensed locations like inner cities. At high speeds, the system works to help provide some extra stability.

4 Body Configurations

If you remember earlier, we said the Lamborghini Centenario was limited to 40 cars. Specifically, that's 20 coupé versions and 20 roadster versions.

It's quite a surprising move from Lamborghini to make such a drastically different version of the Centenario despite only selling 40 in total. Nevertheless, the roadster version varies in looks slightly of course but also in weight, as the addition of the strengthening components means the Centenario roadster weighs just over 3,460 lbs.

3 The Aerodynamics

It's clear from just looking at the Centenario that aerodynamic performance was at the forefront of the design, with looks playing second fiddle.

The Lamborghini comes with a twin-plane front air splitter, which helps generate downforce whilst routing airflow to the vehicle’s sides via the air blades. The Centenario’s rear air diffusers are the biggest to ever be put on a Lamborghini production car. This combined with the three-position, electronically controlled rear wing helps the Lamborghini generate 500 lbs of downforce at around 174 mph for maximum grip.

2 Included Tech

Although speed and performance take center stage with the Centenario, that doesn't mean Lamborghini has forgotten about the modern-day comforts which are expected of any contemporary supercar.

Those lucky enough to be living with the Centenario will be greeted with a host of tech options, including a gigantic infotainment screen in the center of the cabin with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. There's also integrated telemetry software for when on track, which records speed, times, and G force. There are even a couple of interior cameras to record the drive itself.

1 The Reason For Its Creation

As we've mentioned, the Centenario is unique and very limited edition. This is because the Lamborghini was made as a celebration rather than for mass production.

The reason it was made was to honor the 100th birthday of the Lamborghini founder himself, Ferruccio Lamborghini. The name Centenario refers to the period of 100 years in both Italian and Spanish, which is fitting giving Lamborghini history. The car is certainly befitting of the man and an incredible tribute to one of the greatest brands in motoring history.
