With a price that goes beyond $300,000, any gearhead would want to know if the Lamborghini Huracán STO is worth every cent. There are more powerful cars around but this Lamborghini presents a compelling case. Henry Catchpole of Carfection gives his own take on the persuasive character of the Huracan STO.

Huracán STO: Genuine Or Fraud?

Before saying anything else good to know about the Lamborghini Huracán STO, Henry didn’t mince words on some elements of the supercar that he considers a fraud. He is referring to the Lambo’s plenum-like air scoop on top of the engine. He remarked that while the carmaker says the scoop is for extracting heat from the engine which doesn’t exist on the Huracán Evo that has the same V10.

Moreover, Henry remarked that while the ‘O’ refers to Omologato or “homologation,” the Huracan STO isn’t really homologating anything. Nevertheless, Henry noted that while not everything in the Huracán STO is genuine, it is more about the total package of the STO. The combination of its powerful engine, carbon-ceramic Brembo CCMR brakes, magnesium wheels, titanium cage, and the model-specific Bridgestone rubbers make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.

Lightweight, Cohesive Design For A Confident Drive

While Huracan STO doesn’t have active aero, it has a massive, three-way adjustable rear wing that could generate up to 926 lbs of downforce at 174 mph, which is around 53% more than the Performante. Henry remarked that the STO feels light during a drive despite having no drive shafts on the front. Since the car’s "cofango" combines the hood and fender in one piece, it is around 95 lbs lighter than the Performante.

As for the design of the STO, Henry thinks its appeal is due to its cohesive styling as well as the fact it looks like real-world Hot Wheels scale model cars. Nevertheless, the combination of genuine and questionable elements in the STO makes it a fantastic drive. Henry also notes that its steering is incredibly responsive.

Aside from being agile on the road, the STO brilliantly copes with bumps while giving the driver the confidence to pilot.

Responsive And Music To The Ears

Henry noted that while the STO might lack the turbocharged thwack of a McLaren, it offers a breathtaking clarity and alacrity of response. Moreover, the STO comes with a very loud engine which sounds like music to the ears of any gearhead. His take on the STO? It’s brilliant.
