The Lamborghini Miura’s design is one of the most influential in the history of automobiles, and is being put on display at part of Art Basel in Miami, Florida. The vehicle is being included as part of an art fair called "A Dreamscape of Italian Design," which is taking place at the Wolfsonian Museum in Miami's Art Deco district.

The Lamborghini Miura has been labeled the world’s first supercar and it featured a road-going mid-engined design that stayed in production from 1966 and 1973. Ferruccio Lamborghini wasn't interested in the car at first with his design team designing and building it in their spare time, but the car was a hit from the moment it was unveiled. The body of the car was designed by Marcello Gandini, who also designed the Lamborghini Countach and Diablo.

The Italian automaker was highlighted during a private VIP gathering, known as “A Dreamscape of Italian Design,” at The Wolfsonian-FIU museum. The exhibit commemorated masterpieces created by Italian leaders of design, architecture and fashion. To represent the pioneering artistry of Lamborghini, the second-floor gallery of the Wolfsonian-FIU was converted into an immersive 1960s installation, with a 1968 Miura serving as the centerpiece of the exhibit. Vehicle photos were sourced from Lamborghini’s archives and lined the walls around the car.

“We are proud to continue our collaboration with Lamborghini on the occasion of Art Basel Miami Beach,” said Cristiano Musillo, Consul General of Italy in Miami. “Lamborghini represents the perfect symbol of the beautiful and well-crafted Made in Italy, ‘il Bello e il Ben Fatto italiano’. The aesthetics of an Italian high-end product like a super sports car derives from centuries of culture enriched by state-of-the-art technology and a perfect match between tradition and innovation.”
