Lamborghini has recently released a full-scale configurator for the Aventador SVJ, and we've just built the best combination. Since its release, the Aventador has taken one giant leap forward after the last resulting in a car that has held the lap record at the infamous Nurburgring Nordschleife since July of 2018. That was the very first we'd ever seen of the SVJ and now it's available with far more customizations than ever before. We've gone to the trouble of tailoring the best SVJ possible and thought we'd share our findings.

While the original SVJ utilized Lamborghini's new active aero technology named ALA, this new car has its second version of that as well as a slew of the most modern tech ever released in a flagship car from the house of the Raging Bull. We think you'll be impressed to see how far they've come as we take the controls in the build process.

The Exterior

Via Lamborghini

First, we started off with what's normally a fairly Ferrariesque color, Rosso Leto, a dark sultry red that's sexy but understated. We prefer the car and its engine do the shouting, not the paint. Over the top of the paint, the car gets an optional transparent protective film to save it from random rock chips and clear coat crazing. Add to that the Nireo Forged Titanium 20/21" wheels and color-matched center locks, springs, and brake calipers because the devil is in the details. The final touch on the outside is the carbon fiber bits. The SVJ logo is in carbon as are the mirrors, protective rocker cover, engine trim, and removable matte-finished hardtop.

The Interior

Via Lamborghini

Inside the car, we've opted to ditch the power/heated seats in favor of lighter manual buckets. Taking full advantage of Lamborghini's tailoring program Ad Personum, we've finished the SVJ logo in the seats with a dark blue and stitching in red to add a pop of color to an otherwise black and grey interior. One of the most interesting bits of tech we've opted for is the Lamborghini Telemetry System, a program that pairs to your smartphone and allows you to see your performance metrics in real-time as you lap a circuit. In addition, you can then review your performance after the fact all while it shows you steering angle, pedal engagement, and the real lines you're taking on the track. Dominating The Game

For a long while, Lamborghini was derided as a company that cared more about style than substance. When they broke the lap record at Nurburgring with the Huracan Peformante people thought they'd cheated or sped up the video. Utilizing the heavier Aventador SVJ to go even faster is just one more piece of evidence that athletic ability is a major part of the DNA at Lamborghini now. It sure seems as though Lamborghini has decided to make the naysayers eat crow with cars like the latest Aventador SVJ.
