Facebook Marketplace appears to have become something of a hidden gem for car auctions. Unlike other auction sites though, it seems to deal more in the weird than the wonderful. That’s very much the theme of this latest find on the social media site's marketplace. Currently listed in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, is this Lamborghini Reventon replica. You might think it is probably quite cheap, being that it's a replica. Well, we are sorry to say you could not be further from the truth.

The Chassis Has Been Taken From A Fiat Coupe

Before we scrutinize the car's looks, let's talk about the mechanics. The seller says that this car has a four-cylinder engine under the hood and that it's mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It comes with new tires and a new battery plus new spark plugs, cables, a gas pump, and a radiator. Interestingly, it is listed as having “hybrid cooling” but it gives no further details beyond that. Chassis-wise, it is based on a Fiat Coupe. Butterfly doors are also present even if they use a different mechanism.

The listing makes no mention of the materials used in the construction of the replica, though given that the car is registered for public use, we have to assume it is of strong construction. The listing mentions it will be painted black when finished and it does make it clear to prospective buyers that it is not quite 100% finished but it will be. How much does this cost? About $5,000? Wrong. This replica is listed for roughly the equivalent of $12,245 USD. It's cheaper than a real Reventon, but you might not be getting what you pay for.

One Of The Most Exclusive Cars In The World

via Facebook Marketplace

The Reventon is one of the rarest and most exclusive cars ever produced by Lamborghini. Just 20 were built, or 21 depending on if you count the museum car. Therefore, they do not come up for sale often and when they do, they can go for six-figure sums. This car could be as close as some people get, even if the proportions are a bit off. It's not the worst attempt, but looking at it, we can tell it is a homemade copy. The lights are even the original ones that came with the Fiat Coupe, giving it a bit of weird front-end styling, but it's certainly a 10/10 when it comes to effort.
