We love Lamborghini! The Italian carmaker has produced some of the greatest supercars the world has ever seen, but what makes the king of supercars really famous is their performance and accompanying soundtracks.

Making the best even better is a big challenge, and yet there are dozens of tuning companies out there that do just that, offering more power, performance, and style. And then there's always that next special edition factory model that goes just a few steps further, as only Lamborghini successfully manages to combine insane styling with desirability time and again.

10 Modified To The Next Level: Lamborghini Unicorn V3

Lamborghini Unicorn V3
Via: Motorooids

Lamborghini's baby, the entry-level Huracán, is regarded as one of the best supercars money can buy. It's capable of a genuine 200+ mph top speed, all wrapped up in a body that is one of the hottest Lambos ever.

Enzari

No supercar is safe from tuners these days, as the Unicorn V3 shows, with the addition of its unique and shocking pink exoskeleton style frame that's bound to grab gearheads' attention. While we can't quite see why the cage is necessary, there is no arguing with the engine modifications, turbocharging Lamborghini's V10 to produce an insane 1,000 hp.

9 Even Wilder: Lamborghini Sian Roadster

Squir

More than just a restyled Aventador, the Sian Roadster is the fastest and most striking  open-topped Lamborghini supercar ever, with its unique aero package a result of thousands of hours of wind tunnel testing.

Squir

Continuing Lamborghini's tradition of building high-performance supercars, the Sian is another all-carbon fiber creation. Arguably, the Italian carmaker is the leading specialist in the use of composite materials. Under the skin, we find the classic 6.5-liter V12 motor boosted with a mild hybrid system to produce an eye-watering 819 hp. Flat out, the roadster can hit 218mph.

8 Modified To the Next Level: Lamborghini Espada

Lamborghini Chat

It takes a special kind of Gearhead to modify a classic Lamborghini, especially one that was produced in low volumes. Built between 1968-78, just 1,217 Espadas rolled off the production line. While the 2+2 coupe wasn't the most beautiful or the fastest, it’s still a Lamborghini.

Lamborghini Chat

Stripped to bare metal before being extensively modified, this Espada is the result of one mad person's desire to produce possibly the most striking modified car ever. Given an extreme rat rod appearance running on larger wheels, this Espada sits lower to the ground and looks mean in matte black; best of all, that V12 engine is on display for all to see.

7 Even Wilder: Lamborghini Egoista

Auto Guide

Only one working Egoista concept car was ever produced, to mark the company's 50th anniversary, and this single-seater is permanently on display at Museo Lamborghini.

Auto Guide

Despite its insane styling, the Egoista owes most of its construction to the ever-popular Gallardo. Under the skin, the same 5.2-liter V10 and the all-wheel drive system make this a fully functioning prototype. With its unique canopy topped central cockpit making it easily the most visually striking Lamborghinis, it’s one of the carmaker's least desirable designs.

6 Modified To The Next Level: RENM Performance STS-700 Gallardo

Automobiles Review

Lamborghini teased gearheads for decades with possible entry-level supercars, and in 2003 the wait was finally over with the launch of the Gallardo, the most important model in the carmaker's history.

Automobiles Review

Over the following ten years, the Gallardo evolved into ever-faster models, however, it would be external performance tuners RENM Performance that pushed Lamborghini's V10 up to 700 hp. Extracting more power means more heat, as RENM fit the STS-700 with a subtle carbon-fiber body kit to improve cooling and airflow; only the large rear wing gives the game away.

5 Even Wilder: Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

GT Spirit

If gearheads had already become accustomed to carbon-fiber bodies in the search for greater weight saving, then the Sesto Elemento from 2010 took things to another level. Lamborghini has beautifully crafted much of the suspension and drive train from the super-strong composite material.

GT Spirit

At the time of launch, the Sesto Elemento represented the purest track-focused road car Lamborghini had ever produced, stripped to the bare minimum in pursuit of less weight and faster lap times. Extensive use of exotic construction materials paid off, with a curb weight of 2,200 lbs and 562 hp the Element has a top speed of 221mph.

4 Modified To The Next Level: Lamborghini Gallardo 4x4

Classic Driver

Ignoring for a moment the LM002, Lamborghini's Diablo VT started the trend of all-wheel drive for the Italian carmaker. Every model since has used the technology for improved traction.

Classic Driver

Sure, all-wheel drive is handy to have, but to turn a late 2004 Gallardo into a proper off-roader just doesn't make sense, and that's exactly what we have here. A one-off custom conversion using a stock Gallardo, its creator hasn't only beefed up the suspension, but also added extra ground clearance, literally taking this Lamborghini to a new level.

3 Even wilder: Lamborghini Urus ST-X

Net Car Show

When Lamborghini announced the upcoming Urus, many gearheads didn't think it was the right direction for the company. After all, the previous attempt at building an off-roader didn't exactly take off, as the LM002 found just 328 buyers.

Net Car Show

Despite concerns, the Urus arrived in 2017 and has since proven to be a big seller, accounting for over half the carmakers' sales in 2019. Of course, it wouldn't be long before a more extreme Urus arrived, with the track-only ST-X developed by Lamborghini's Squadra Corse Division to meet FIA regulations, thus signaling the racing intentions behind perhaps the best off-roader this century.

2 Modified To The Next Level: Mansory Carbonado Apertos

Mansory Carbonado Apertos
Via: Mansory

Until Lamborghini unveils its final plans for the next flagship model, Mansory's take on the Aventador serves as the ultimate V12 Lambo offering more power and less weight that's guaranteed to stop any gearhead in their tracks.

Mansory

As the name suggests, much of the custom bodywork is carbon-fiber, with its unique woven pattern visible through its clear lacquer finish that adds to its overall visual appeal. Opening the door reveals a similar level of attention to detail with a range of carefully hand-stitched interior trims showcasing the Carbonado's premium build quality. Mansory really does make the best cars even better.

1 Even Wilder: Lamborghini Terzo Millennio

Wikipedia

It is only a matter of time before the king of supercars switches from gasoline to electric power for propulsion. Lamborghini to date has resisted the pressure for hybrid power units in the Aventador, but with the model nearing the end of its life, the V12 will surely be phased out also.

Wikipedia

Unveiled in 2017, the Terzo Millennio true to Lamborghini form eschews the normal battery technology. Instead, engineers planned the use of supercapacitors with a much faster charge and discharge cycle that provide power to each of the four electric motors. There are no power or performance figures available at the moment. For now, gearheads will just have to hope that electric cars in the near future look this good.
