“The purpose of a New Year goes beyond having a new year. It’s more about having a new soul and a new nose; new feet, new ears, new eyes, a new backbone, and possibly a new car.” - G.K. Chesterton (A Chesterton calendar).

If there is one thing we all do every 31st of December, it's to have high hopes for the coming year. That’s when we write down a lot of resolutions and goals we hope to achieve in the New Year. The same thing applies to automakers; they plan to produce cars for a particular model year and have high hopes that the car will do well when it’s launched. The only difference between the planning of an average person and automakers is the time involved in planning. While a normal person plans a few months before the next year, an automaker starts planning, sometimes, years before the launching of a particular model year—in this case 2019.

It’s in such cases that leaked images of proposed cars come out thanks to the internet, and it gives us a clue of what the automaker has been up to lately. However, the automakers facilitate such leaks as a P.R stunt to hear what the general public have to say about the particular car. In this article, we’ll be listing leaked images and features of 2019 vehicles, for the consumers to know what to expect. Some of the cars are worth the release, while some aren’t. Keep reading. You’ll find out.

11  We Don't Want: Chevrolet Blazer

Via CNET

Now, we haven’t gotten to the part, where we aren’t impressed by some car manufacturers 2019 releases, yet. The new Chevy Blazer is one vehicle we don’t want to see this year, even though it looks a bit cool, a closer look will give you a second thought about the car.

According to Top Gear, the vehicle is like a crossover that has the front end of a Camaro. The car comes with a weak V6 engine that outputs 305 horsepower. The four-cylinder model of the vehicle can’t top 200 donkeys, talk less of horses.

10 We Don't Want: Volkswagen I.D. Crozz

Via YouTube

According to Top Gear, the 2019 Volkswagen I.D. Crozz is slated to hit the market by autumn of 2019. A lot of fans are not excited about the news even though it’s going to be an all-electric car that delivers 300 horsepower.

The biggest challenge of the I.D. Crozz is the fact that it’s rumored to be a poor man’s BMW X6 because of its weird look that bears the resemblance of a sedan merged with an SUV suspension. It’s a shame that VW didn’t do much to the original concept which came out in 2017.

9 We Don't Want: Hyundai Santa Cruz Pickup

Via Luxury Car Reviews

If you’ve been observant, you will notice that the pickup truck trend has gotten a steady growth over the last few years, so every car manufacturer wants to release the coolest pickup to the market. With that said, we know that the Hyundai Santa Cruz will not be the one to wow truck enthusiasts.

We know that for a fact because its 2019 version is already losing the battle even before entering. According to Top Gear, the bed of the pickup truck is so small that the rear seat is bound to be poky. Also, it has a poor towing capacity.

8 We Don't Want: Polestar 1

Via CNET

The Polestar 1 is proof that not all that glitters is gold because at a glance the model looks impressive. Nonetheless, if you’re attentive to this model, you will notice that it seems too familiar and it’s not as remarkable as you imagined.

The truth is, it’s easy to see right through this model as it’s a re-purposed Volvo concept that came into existence some years back—now you know why it looks familiar. No doubt, according to Motor 1, Polestar is a stand-alone company—at least that’s why they have their badges on old concepts.

7 We Don't Want: Jeep Gladiator

Via Car Monster

The expectation for the Jeep Gladiator isn’t high; which is why we don’t want it in the first place. We give respect to the Wrangler that did well as a pickup, but we can’t say the same for the Gladiator because it’s a weird combination of an old Wrangler frame and new Wrangler looks that would leave most car enthusiasts in a state of confusion—maybe its concept title was called the Scrambler for this reason.

According to Carbuzz, the Gladiator has a slightly longer wheelbase alongside a bolted bed to the rear—which doesn’t cut it for a brand new car.

6 We Don't Want: GMC Acadia

Via YouTube

The GMC Acadia isn’t a model we want, and this isn’t because it doesn’t have proper specifications. Although the Acadia looks like a reliable vehicle, it’s almost impossible not to point out that the design is boring—the company may have run out of designs as this particular one has been repeated too many times.

According to Consumer Reports, the features of the Acadia aren’t off the hook thanks to the fact that nothing new was added. On this note, it’s glaring that the company didn’t put in so much when it comes to creativity.
