The new M3 and M4 were set to be shown on September 23, but as the internet tends to do, images of the car have been leaked to the public. The G80 and G82 generations feature an enthusiast favorite (manual, thank you BMW!), the new large corporate grille, and will surely be pushing harder than ever to cement itself as "The Ultimate Driving Machine."

The Face Of Performance

BMW has fit the massive (and divisive) front grille to both the M3 and M4, but the grille isn't all for looks. The aggressive lines all point towards the grille to help direct more air to the S58 inline 6 engine which will push 473 horsepower in the base M while bringing 503 horsepower to the Competition pack. This means the new M will be pushing more power and torque than the F80 M3 Competition in base form.

Gripping Appearance

The G80 M3 and G82 M4 will both be featuring a new system called M xDrive. This will drastically improve year-round use of these cars, and will still offer for the stereotypical M car thrills. Not to worry, the setup can be decoupled and made full rear-wheel-drive still. This is one of the largest differences between the standard G80 and the M. The extra ventilation in front of the front wheels will also help direct airflow to help cool the brakes after spirited driving.

Rear Control

Around the back, the G80 features a huge rear diffuser to help direct air around the car and improve the aerodynamics. The sloping design of the M4 draws a sharp contrast when next to the M3's rear trunk. The two also receive darker tinting around the taillights to add to the aggressiveness. Although pricing has not been announced yet, it is safe to assume both cars will receive a price bump over the current models.
